I'm working on some creating some (hopefully useful) stats, and I'm looking for any sites that have reasonably detailed match logs available. Things I'm looking for are lineups (preferably with positions/formations listed), substitutions, shots taken, and goals scored. What I'm hoping to do is automatically download these pages, parse them into useful data, and copy to a searchable database. Soccernet's WAP page has logs like this for ongoing matches, but they seem to disappear when the match is finished. The play-by-play logs on mlsnet.com look very useful, though they don't list the lineups. There are plenty of baseball sites that publish info like this, such as the game logs on minorleaguebasebll.com: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/...d=milb&t=g_log&gid=2007_05_02_albaaa_orhaaa_1 If anyone knows where I can find more logs like this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Any league is fine, but the more, the better.
Unfortunately I don't know any match log sites, but I've been working on a similar project. Check out the description in this thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=559431 If you could help me optimize the database or the parser script, I think we could build a pretty powerful research resource.
