I ordered two other things along with the book from Amazon, to get the cheapskate shipping. They mailed the other two, but are sitting on the book. Doesn't Amazon realize the priorities here?
I really want to get this book and I'd like to put it on my Christmas list. Unfortunately, my family rarely gets the hint and either waits to get these sort of things at the last minute (when they're sold out) or doesn't get them at all. Will there still be copies available in the event I don't get the book for Christmas? Or should I just get it now with my own money?
It's $20 bucks (IIRC), and they will have them at the Crew gift shop this weekend, I believe, from what I heard. Though this was only discussed with my Applebees waitress...
Foozer, It will definitely be available if you don't get it for Christmas. Store inventory may fluctuate since I am pulling inventory guesstimates out of my butt at this point, but it will always be available at Amazon and will soon be available through TheCrew.com as well. So no worries. Er, I mean, there is only one copy left and then it will be discontinued forever. Buy it now! But seriously, you're fine. Thanks! Sirk
This is the way to do it. Book sells, and the Foundation makes some dough to put towards good causes as well. Keep the dough in the local economy, sez I.
While I would have preferred to buy through the Crew, my geography makes that a little difficult. I really (impatiently) wanted it so my copy from Amazon just got in yesterday. Absolutely fantastic stuff. There's so much in this, much more than the 2008 notebooks (of course). I really would have read the whole thing last night if I didnt force myself to go to sleep. Well done, Sirk.
Mary wanted me to let everyone know that you are more then welcome bringing her your copies of the book for her to sign. She promised not to let fame go to her head.
No, but today is our (the guys that came from Ohio) halfway day. So we celebrated after work yesterday (at 7am) with Pizza Hut and Russian malt liquior.
HA! That brought tears to my eyes! But seriously, for all of you watching, the Marines have the hignest ASVAB requirement.
I'll be picking up my copy pregame tonight. The people that I've talked that have read bits and pieces of it already, are telling me that it's a great read. Thanks Sirk!!
Is this thread where I can register a complaint? This book is ruining my career and my life. I am not getting enough sleep because I keep trying to read just one more page even when it's past 1:30 am and I have work the next day. I am addicted to Sirk's notebook in bound form. Don't you be like me! Alright? Don't be like me. SAVE YOURSELVES GODDAMNIT.
No shit, man. I'm getting ready to sue Sirk over this. Last night, I forced myself to go back into work until 11:00 after having pork chops and beer with co-workers at a local pub just so I wouldn't be forced to read until 3 am or something stupid like that.
Plus, it solves all my Christmas issues. Buy 'em by the box, pass 'em out. If you don't like the Crew, well, you ought to learn, so here. Merry Christmas.
I've been trying to resist the allure, as I'm in the middle of like, three other books right now.....but damn.....read the first section tonight while the wife was watching the 7 O'clock sitcom reruns.....couldn't stifle the giggles and just chose to ignore the looks....damn I'm going to enjoy this book. Mr. Sirk sir....thank you.
