Let me add: 1. Some have been trying to make some traditions at games. One is to sing "God Bless America" at kick off, and "When the Yanks go Marching In" err... when the team marches in. Just start them in every section and people will come along. Use those two as a starting point. 2. Also remember in most places 3 or 4 keys "tunes" that are basically the same all over the world and you can change the words at ease, the are: "guantanamera" "go west" "ole, ole, ole" etc. Just pick 3 and anyone can change the words. Just join in!!! If you here "there's only one brad freidel" just join in!! You can change it to "your mother is a skeezer" or "we got the only blind ref", just make it up as you go along. But if someone makes up something, just sing along. It should be a familiar song: "que sera" "jingle bells" "you are my sunshine" "Frere Jacques (are you sleeping)" use anything familiar. The simpler the better. 3. Steal songs. Everyone does it. If you like "go brittania" STEAL IT. Make new words or turn it around: "hey brittania, the yanks now rule the waves...." Also about every anti-german or anti-french songs the Brits sing works perfectly for us. 4. Steal songs from other traditional American sports. We all know "na, na goodbye" write some words too it. The "overrated" chant, stolen from basketball *(me thinks) if perfect to sing when you lead Portugal 3-0 in the World Cup. <sheepish grin> Most importantly just sing. Find the section of singers when you go to a match. Or: 5-10 people can get an entire stadium chanting something. Just start or help spread something.
