Get used to it. The notion that the guidelines are enforced is laughable. It's pretty much random action with very little consistency. After all, the mods receive less training than the average MLS ref.

looks to me like it got into politics...and then you had the you're presidents a whore, etc...

start another one and ask people to keep the insults to themselves - bet it doesn't get closed if people do that, OR, start it in world rivalries :)

Why is it that people's first reaction to a decision they disagree with is to start a thread like this? Just curious. Feel free to PM me at any time if you have input about the USA boards or any decision you disagree (or agree) with.

Anyway - I messed up -- I don't like that thread or where it was going (I'm half "yellow" (not that it's meant to be racist), half-Japanese to be specific), but this really is nancyb and Jacen's board and I try not to intervene. I will reopen it and let them decide whether to let it continue. (For the record, it wasn't just closed because I didn't think it was fun, I also thought it was getting nasty and political, as Flan said.) I also think that given the war, a silly thread like that seems a little out of place -- but that's just me.

I personally think that because we have a game and because MLB cancelled their trip and because there is a war going on, that there are plenty of reasons to not to be pissed at Japan for cancelling, so IMO we should move on, but whatever, like I said I'll re-open it.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Another "Moderators are a Stupid Face" thread. Only without the wit.

The topic is running neck and neck with "Freddy Adu" and "Brian McBride" threads as the Number One topic of all time.

Bad call reopening that thread. You were right the first time. You buckled to the whiners.

Moderators use their JUDGEMENT. In this case, based on experience, it was obvious not just where it was but also where it was inevitably heading.

People who HAVE no judgement complain about this stuff.

Fortunately, I just got done helping out over there.
