Saw in the latest Soccer America Daily newsletter that Frank Simek, the young American in the Arsenal system, has been called into the U-20 team to represent the United States at the CONCACAF Group B qualifying tournament in Charleston, S.C., Nov. 13-17.

The three U.S. matches will be available on pay-per-view, for $19.95 each through DirectTV. Additional outlets are expected to be announced soon, according to the newsletter.

Hadn't heard much about Frank lately so I thought I'd post this.

Thanks Dan. Do we have any members in South Carolina? We gotta get an interview with this kid. I'll try to set it up with the club if we have somebody who could meet up with him. Maybe it can be something for the Arsenal Magazine or website.

"RICK". I know that I missed out on the last one as I was "Stateside" at Easter. If it doesn't get done in S.C., then I'll do it for you when he returns. JEFF.

On the US Youth board there's alot of talk about this team as a whole and GersMan, I believe, will be there interviewing different players. You might be able to ask him to interview Simek for ArseAm.

Okay, I volunteer to be the fool who asks the obvious (big surprise): so, what's Simek's story? what position does he play? how long has he been associated with Arsenal? (etc.)

    Thanks.

He's been there about a year or so, plays in defense. He's from St. Louis, but has lived in England for several years.
