Hey, I'm working on a post for my Valencia blog (http://valencia.theoffside.com) and am wondering: considering Silva's breakout season and important role on this club, is he making you forget our old friend and incoming opponent Pablo Aimar? Discuss!
Yes. I have forgotten all about little Pablo. I have alot of respect for Aimar and i wish him the best in the rest of his career but Silva has ben a revolution, words cannot say how important he has been this season and he is one of the most underrated players their are in Europe, to this day. On this note, Barca and Real were interested in him, but just like his contract says, he is a Valencia player and will continue for years.
I think it would be a little disrespectful to Pablito to say the fans have forgotten him. He was a great servant to this club for a number of years, many considered him a fans favourite. Thats not to say Silva isnt good, personally i feel hes had a brilliant season. Hes filled the void Aimars transfer left and hes been as good if not better than little Pablo. It just shows how good Silva was last year, because now he is no longer on loan at Celta look at their position in the league, compared to last season.
Another reason why it is disrespectfull to forget about Aimar is that he didnt want to leave the club. Carboni mad forced him out.. son of a...
I will say this once. Manchester City made me follow the football. Pablo Aimar made me fall in love with it. Pablo Aimar will never be forgotten for me at least.
Silva has been outstanding this season IMO he can become Spain's best player and will probably surpass Aimar, who for all his promise still hasn't taken his game to the next level, even with Zaragoza this season he has been good without being great. I think Valencia fans should be happy with Silva.
