One of the most low-key coaches in all of MLS, Brian Schmetzer does not have marketing or a buzzing https://bolavip.com/en/soccer/silent-hero-brian-schmetzer-20210616-0017.html
You aren't wrong and, tbh, most Sounder fans are glad that Schmetzer has a relatively low profile. I don't think Schmetzer has any plans to coach anywhere other than Seattle and, as a result, it's nice to not really have to worry about whether he'll come up in any discussions if/when there are openings on other teams. He doesn't even come up in discussions about the USMNT and, that's okay. On the other hand, Schmetzer's build from the back style can be very frustrating at times, particularly in the MLS Cup where the Sounders were outplayed in three of their four trips and even that fourth time, Toronto was the better team. It's also frustrating that the Sounders have pretty much abandoned USOC, which was their claim to fame at the start of the MLS stint, doesn't seem too interested in doing well in CCL, and the recurring slow starts to the season...
