Well, it's currently set for an "Offline" draft, so maybe the clock will start if I switch it to list draft. Just spoke to Hal, and he'd like to move forward with the live one, even if it takes us a week. Let's hear what others say before making a final decision.

Either a list or live. I am gone Thursday through Tuesday. Sorry.

List is fun. I did it last year and did well.

Captain Orange went away by the way so the last list given is the one we have unless anyone joins in before we start.

I'll go with either or. Not fussed either way as it's my first shot at this one.

My team name is Anton Mor.

Last pick in the draft.

Man I'm getting used to getting the scraps.

I know you are all trained professionals, but if anyone wants a (fairly) silent partner, send me a PM and let me know. I didn't want to commit to a full season in another game on my own, but I wouldn't mind seeing how the game works. (I can/will only accept one offer).

It's all new to me too so if you want to hop in to Team Anton Mor then you're more than welcome.

    Good stuff.

Have you had a look on The Times website for the basic rules of the game?

Also, just in case you haven't noticed and now that you are already 'committed' (BUWAHAHAHAHA) this is as good a time as any to tell you that we have the last pick, out of 12...

My preference is for the list. I'm gone Tues-Thurs of next week so it will be tough to be a good live drafter.

I think I signed up, but not sure.

Regarding the draft, I can be flexable within non-working hours. How long could a live draft take?

    Ready to Draft

That's a shame. I have Internet connection for (possibly) three days, then things get tricky again.

    Re: Ready to Draft

Sasha Juniors is now signed up.

Decide no live draft or list.

My vote is either. I will be gone Thursday through Tuesday but can send Fraser a gigantic list.

As the recently acquired water boy for Team Anton Mor, I'll only remind you that this is 20 rounds with 12 teams. That's 240 picks, as opposed to the 120 picks we've been doing picking 15 players for 8 teams. This is going to take a "long" time, and it's hard to say whether it will speed up in later rounds when picks are less valuable or slow down as everyone digs deeper into lists (for names some of us have never heard or thought about that). I could be wrong, but this needs to start yesterday if it's going to be a live draft. It will be quite a feat to finish it, and that's without even getting into some of the scheduling issues some have already noted.

    Some ideas:

    A. Would there be a 2-3 hour window to do a "go fast" phase and knock out a bunch of rounds to kick things off?

    B. Can you revert to the "list" to finish it off, i.e., live draft for the first 8-10 rounds through next Tuesday or Wednesday, then submit lists on Thursday of the remaining players to have the rest of the teams kicked out by the computer. Or is it all or nothing?

I believe it's all or nothing and offline (draft without list) has been chosen.

The chairman will probably have to input everything; ie - allocating players to teams.

    Have fun, Jay.

I think I'd go for a list... generally I'm seeing this team as little more than an experiment anyway (note the Redknapp-style dismissal of my chances to reduce pressure) so it would be interesting to try this method.

Plus, to be completely honest, I'm a bit burned out on live drafts having just completed one here. Wouldn't it turn out to be pretty much exactly the same? And as blech said, 240 picks is an awful lot to get through without some automated help.

I'm kind of curious to see what fate sends my way, so I'd vote for the auto option.

Lobo I sent you a PM with the league name and code.

Anyone know if we are live draft or list yet?
