sorry, its just that i thought the link to this would get buried in the other thread. doesn't hurt to sign right?......so, here's an "on-line" petition for those that want to send a message to Kraft Soccer that this match should be played in front of us.

N.E. Revolution to play their "HOME" leg at home

p.s. please call the revs office too....there's no guarantee they'll read this.

p.s.s. past the address along to anyone you know that would be interested. i think this affects not only revs fans, but mls fans across the board.

I hope that this gets some attention. It's a shame that the kraft's would not want to have an extra soccer game at gillette.

if anyone has any ideas on other avenues to get pressure put on the revs organization....i'm all for them.

i'll forward a letter onto the herald, the globe, the columnists on mlsnet, and soccer america. i'll probably forward something along to the mls offices and to the other 2 mls investor/op's if that's at all possible.

I don't care if it's at new 'boro or Nickerson or Singer Park in Manchester or someplace in CT. Just play it within reach of the fans that have been there for the first six years.

    Way to go, Rev-eler

Top notch job on the petition, and I would just recommend posting a thread with a link to it in as many different boards here as you can. This is something that all MLS & US Soccer fans should be willing to put their signature on, and the more people that are on there will at least send a message to the Krafts.

Thank you for starting this petition. I hope it goes through.

I also added the comments below which are a bit less harsh than my comments on the "News and Analysis" thread. I am with the Magpie on this one. At the same time I seriously belive that the upper management (Imbriano, etc.) just don't begin to understand what it would do for the Revs and the league to have them reach Round Two and maybe play home and home with a club like America. I mean, can you see the Rev coming out of the tunnel in the Azteca? As far as I'm concerned that would be a dream come true and easily worth any financial risks to get there......

WHAT I WROTE ON MY PETITION COMMENT....To the management of the Revolution: As the people responsible for trying to better the reputation, quality and support of this franchise you, above anyone, should understand the importance of playing in an international tournament. Look at what has happened to the reputation of the National team through their recent success. We are now number 10 in the world. Wouldn't you like for MLS to be thought of in such terms? That can be achieved by success in international club play and you have a chance to achieve that in the palm of your hand. To play both legs in Costa Rica is to give up on any progress. You ared one round away from playing a top MFL team, perhaps at the Azteca. Do not be penny wise and pound foolish here. By not playing a first round match in New England you are seriously misjudging the damage such a decision will do to your reputation as a serious professional organization......

I will add my voice to those who say thank you for starting the petition... as bad as weather may be up here, it makes me warm inside to think how much worse it will seem to those who have never played a game at less than 70 degrees F;-)

    someone say "home field advantage"???

the petition is closing in on 180 signatures. that's great. everyone should be proud that they've added their voice to the mix.

today, i've been in contact with a higher up in the revs office who assures me that lou imbriano and sunil gulati will review the petition once i send him the link. in addition, i'm in the process of getting to Commissioner Garber, through his assistant, to view the petition as well. I'd like to wait until the end of the day to let them have their first glance at it so that more names/comments can be added to mix.

if you haven't signed already, and want to do so, please get over today and do it.

N.E. Revolution to play their "HOME" leg at home

it wouldn't hurt to call the revs @ 1.877.GET.REVS as well so that other people in the organization know about this issue (and directly hear people that care about it)

    thanks

Arrgh: I thought that I'd signed the petition and even posted a note to that effect but when I went to check the signatures I saw that mine wasn't there. I've tried three times since then to sign and it doesn't seem to work. I notice that my son has put his name in and he used the same computer. Have I been marginalized as a double-dipper?

    Wanting to sign but frustrated.....

the link has been forwarded to sunil and lou imbriano (thru a revs employee that assures me they will review it). also, forwarded to commissioner garber's office. i'm still trying to reach his assistant to make sure he at least glances at it as well. its also been forwarded onto the columnists for mlsnet.com.

any other peeps it should go to?

please keep up the signing. hopefully, they'll go to look at it more than once over the next week.

Perhaps you could send it to revsnet.matchnight.com or revolutionsoccer.net. Maybe they'd be willing to link to it?

Why would the Revolution desire to provide a link to an effort that's highly critical of the club on the organization's official website?

Maybe Revsnet, but not the official site.

Here's another idea that a friend of mine sent me tonight.

Why not play the game at Brown or URI and donate a portion of the proceeds to benefit the families of the nightclub disaster this week? If it were for charity, not only might we get a bigger crowd, buy my guess is that either Brown or URI would be more willing to let the Revolution use their facilities. And obviously, not only would the Revs be working for a good cause, but they'd get some mileage out of the positive publicity.

    Makes sense to me.

Mike, that makes perfect sense! Great Idea.

Let's see the Revs prove me wrong and actually do this...

in today's globe, fda states that the revs HAVE ALREADY DECIDED to make the switch to 2 games in costa rica. really, people should flood the office with phone calls today and make them either tell us that its a done deal or pressure them to have frankie recind what he wrote.
