sorry to crash your board with this....i would have put it into a concacaf champs cup thread if i would have found one. i've only posted this on team's boards that are in the tourney, the concacaf board, and the mls board. anyway, revs fans are looking for support on a petition.

    backround:
Concacaf released the following Concacaf Champions Cup Schedule/Press release today.

Dates, times confirmed for first round of 2003 Champions Cup

of concern to the NE Revolution fans (and fans of MLS) is the following:
notice, both matches to be played in Costa Rica. Now, we know that the concacaf website is somewhat of a joke in many respects...but, many of us have talked to the revs office and they will not say it is a mistake or deny its validaty.

Not only is this extremely irritating, frustrating, etc to loyal revs fans that have supported this club thru more horrible seasons than any fan should....but its embarrasing for a club in mls to not find some way...any way...to play a game like this on american soil. we rev fans have waited far too long for our side to get involved in something like this, only to have the 2nd leg played away from us.

Please go to the following link and let rev's management know that its not acceptable to revs fans and to fans of mls for this side to give up their right to play this match in front of their own fans.

N.E. Revolution to play their "HOME" leg at home

pass it along to your friends, etc. revs fans need everyone's support....asap.

    thanks

This one is a tough call (based on our treatment during the MLS Cup semifinals)...

there's no reason to go back into that here. the two are not really connected. if you don't want to fight a revs or mls cause...don't use completely irrational excuses.

i really dislike the metrostars. really.

however, as someone who wants the league to be accepted world-wide and who views this scheduling as a bit of a slap in the face, i will sign your petition.

i still don't like your team, though.

I don't see how it's an MLS cause. All the other teams management were able to get a home game. If the Revolution front office is too stupid to get a home match they don't deserve one.

true, but if the rev's front office is too stupid to get a home game, they're making the mls look bad.....
maybe the mls needs to step in

I'm exactly with this. It's a US Soccer game. Revs could easily be any a-league team. Blame US Soccer or CONCACAF. It's more their tournament than MLS.

There was also a similar thread in the CONCACAF forum along the lines of if Kraft can't get his team to play in his stadium, then he doesn't deserve a home game... or something like that.

Not to make hasty generalizations...but Barca fans are assholes

As for the topic, who cares. The stinking Revs can play in a landfill or a festering swamp or at the bottom of the Atlantic.

Just don't care. Get up a petition - yeah like THAT'S really gonna do something.

so let me get this straight... the Revs management can not find a place to play the CONCACAF game inside the USA?

There is not a college stadium available?

    No high school stadium?

I went to the Crew game in the Hunt Cup that was played out on Cape Cod (my wife is from New Hampshire so I happened to be in New England) and that stadium could hold at least 4000.

I am supposed to feel bad for the idiots from the New Englands front office?

Sign your own petition... or sign a petition to build a stadium for your team. I refuse to feel bad for anyone in the Boston area. I went to the USA v Holland game last year (again my wife's family lives in the area) and I was not impressed. It is just another football stadium.

looks like the Costa Rican team heard the phrase "home and home" series and decided it was a good idea to have their games "home and home."

Signed it....and don't say they aren't related because you really wouldn't be there if you hadn't gotten lucky against us anyways....

Hate your team, your ways of putting everybody on your team in your box when up 1-0, and the fact MLS got on their knees for you last year. In other words, I'm not signing it. Have fun in Costa Rica (both games).

I'm disgusted with it. Shows how bad CONCACAF is. As far as organization only Africa could possibly be worse as far as organizing and common sense.

America would be better off in another Federation. We're being run by thick-as-pig-sh1t cocconut grabbing islanders and taco stand shift managers.

    We're being taken for mugs.

I signed it. It's good for MLS and therefore good for the Crew.
    Rev fans deserve it.
