It was reported that the club exercised an option to extend him for one year until 2026 so they can sell rather than lose him on a free. I wouldn't expect more than £10m.

Looks more likely that another 6 will be needed.

Nico Williams agrees personal terms with Barca. Reported 7-8m euro/yr when he was asking 12m+ from EPL clubs & Bayern.

If he had come to Arsenal, he would always have had one foot out the door, waiting for Barcelona to call. They did us a favor by signing him now.

While Williams may be more durable, he is not now and I’m not sure he will ever be the player Raphinha is. So the question becomes, is Flick about to imitate PSG and move Raphinha to striker?

Jarell Quansah - 22yo - made 4 league starts and 9 sub appearances at CB/RB for Liverpool - valued at €20m on transfermarkt, being sold to Bayern for "north of €40m"

Jakub Kiwior - 25yo - made 10 league starts and and 7 sub appearances at CB/LB for Arsenal - valued at €28m on transfermarkt, could be sold for ???

I may be in the minority but I would 100% sell him if we got an offer of 40+. I still have a hard time seeing him wanting to stay unless we have promised more rotation and a minimum number of starts which is not Arteta's MO.

I've been higher on Kiwior than most throughout his time in London but I would sell as well. This is what smart clubs do, sell quality players who have outgrown their role. Reinvest in Hato who is 6 years younger or someone who can be the next Kiwior.

Fabio Vieira continues to start in the CWC. Today he's in the lineup with Veiga. Seems like Porto has intentions to keep Fabio long term.

While I would like to get him off the books, I wouldn't be opposed to extending his contract and letting Porto loan him for 1 more season. If he can replicate or improve upon this season, it would increase his value for the next club.

I would sell Kiwior if Calafiori or Ben White could do better if either Gabriel or Saliba are out. I'd love to see Hato come but he won't sit on the bench.

I didn't rate Kiwior the first few times I saw him play. Now he's been very good. I'd keep him unless we have or could do better for less money.

Selling Kiwior and bringing in Hato isn’t a 1-to-1. Hato is only a left back here, not a Gabriel understudy.

For that kind of money? Absolutely. But I'd probably focus on a young right-sided CB instead of Hato.

It would take £50m for me. Gotta replace him, and some of these mooted fees for worse players are ridiculous.

Like who? I agree we'd have to replace him but £40m would go a decent way toward that for a young guy.

And no, I'm not champing at the bit to get rid of Kiwior---just think it's a smart sale if a good offer comes in.

He's 6' and has played CB at Ajax.

CB is not a position that requires rotation, an understudy isn't going to play very much, some cups or in case of injury/suspension. It's why it doesn't make sense to keep a 40m+ asset primarily as cover for Gabriel. Prior to his hamstring injury at the end of this season, Kiwior had barely ever played LCB for Arsenal.

Fullbacks have to rotate. Saliba's backup comes from having RB's that can play RCB. Calafiori and Hato could do the same on the left. Replace a LB-only in Zinchenko and a mostly-LCB in Kiwior with a single player in Hato.

(my personal preference would be to sell Calafiori and keep Kiwior because I value the one that can stay healthy, but don't see that happening)

So he’s three inches shorter than Kiwior.

Arteta choosing not to use Kiwior doesn’t mean center halves don’t need time off.

I mean, @CarlosKaiser mentioned the rumors about Quansah, for one. And different positions, obvs, but Sp*rs are supposedly looking to spend £70m on Semenyo.

I know, these are just paper talk, for now.

    But that’s why I said ‘mooted.’ :D

I've long considered Zubi a done deal in spirit. A matter of when not if. Whether or not we can get Sesko is the question.
