Arsenal are not going after both Sesko and Gyokeres, Gyokeres appears to be a fallback option if Leipzig prices Arsenal out of a move for Sesko, or if another team highjacks the move. They could also be trying to get Leipzig to lower the price.

The fact that Arsenal’s left backs typically invert rather than overlap, actually allows opponents to double both wings

Think the addition of Zubimendi will solve some of that, but I’m not sure it’s really all that useful to have an overlap with Martinelli

Agreed. I'm not sure the situation with Gyokeres but I recall lots of talk last summer that part of Sesko signing a new deal was a verbal agreement that he would be allowed to leave for a specific value below his release clause this summer. Shame on his agent for agreeing to a new contract with verbal stipulations. My understanding is that Leipzig are now holding out for approx 10m euro above the agreed upon amount and it is stalling negotiations.

    Here is the Gyokeres rumor.....

My understanding is that the Sesko situation is virtually identical. He signed a new contract based on a verbal agreement that Leipzig would let him go for X and now Leipzig are asking for X+Y. Bad on the agents for accepting verbal agreements.

I’m reminded of the old saying, a verbal agreement (contract) is not worth the paper it’s written on.

There are rumors the Leipzig need to sell and want to do it quickly to reinvest, Arsenal know this and are trying to call their bluff, but in the meantime it's more posturing.

I think Frank going to sp*rs may have thrown a wrench in Mbeumo to United so they moved on to Gyokeres which has brought back a whole new flurry of rumors.

Nico Williams flirting with Barca again. Fresh off meetings with Bayern and he turns around to go visit Barca. I honestly don't think he has any desire to leave Spain.

Agreed. I like him but I don't think he's worth the pursuit. Seems it would be a waste of time.

I saw a report that claimed Flick called him, so no matter how much Arteta likes him, I doubt he’s coming to Arsenal. Shade has also been thrown on Arsenal’s Rodrygo chase with claims he has talked to Alonso and wants to stay. In addition, since PSG has reportedly told Bayern that Barcola isn’t available, so that appears to limit Arsenal to either Leao or potential.

I hope and pray. I want Sekso badly, and its crazy I meet feel disappointed if its Gyokeres, especially if Sesko goes somewhere. Which he might.

If its Gyokeres, I just hope we can get Sesko at a later time in the future.

We are fairly secure in central defense with Gabriel, Saliba and Kiwior but Hato is very good. What I like about him is his pace and he can go forward with the ball like a midfielder.

He definitely wants Barca but they can't afford him.

Fab says Sesko talks are moving slowly and we have engaged Gyokeres

The interesting thing is there has definitely been a shift in Arsenal fans from Gyokeres to Sesko. I have read more fans changing from Gyokeres to Sesko than the other way in terms of preference of either.

I have a bad feeling whoever we end up with will be the wrong option

There isn’t a can’t miss option anywhere, so I get you.

But we can’t just sit this one out. We gotta put our money on one.

You’re commentating on your perception of your Twitter zeitgeist.

Maybe but the same can be applied to your Twitter zeitgeist as well. : ) lol For the record, I don't have Twitter (as well as IG, and a few other platforms). I'm somewhat off the grid with regards to social media.
The one platform I go to at times like NewsNow, (Note its NOT NewsMax the far right site) simply has 'Arsenal' as my search and its anything to do with the club. Its algo doesn't favor pro Sesko or Gyokeres articles, its anything Arsenal related. Just for the record.

Can't prove a negative though. Just this forum is proof. How many people were originally pro Sesko and now pro Gyokeres and how many were pro Gyokeres and now pro Sesko?

I am pro Sesko more than Gyokeres but I think the worst outcome would be to end up with neither.

I think Sesko has a higher ceiling, but then that comes at the expense of immediate results.

Gyokeres will score goals off the bat for us. He is definitely quality but then he is older and I don't think his peak is as high as Sesko.

But both will score goals at Arsenal next season.

Not likely but how I would love if we could get both.

Obviously different for everyone, the online Arsenal spaces I look at besides here have been consistent. The people who wanted Sesko still do, and the people who wanted Gyokeres still do, minimal swapping between the two.

The argument for Gyokeres is that he's far more ready to start day one and won't need nearly as much time to adjust. I definitely agree Gyokeres is more polished and would adjust faster than Sesko.
However, as I said, the debate shouldn't be which is quicker to adjust but can we win the title next season with Sesko? Its pretty much a consensus we can win the upcoming season with Gyokeres. I contend we can with Sesko as well. Also, we will be much better over time with Sesko, so its not just next season but for the next half dozen seasons as well with a player who could conceivably be a complete monster at the time that Gyokeres is playing for lower tier sides because he's well past 30.

There is no evidence that gyokores won’t be more time to acclimatize to the PL than Sesko. Gyokores is older but the Portuguese Liga ain’t close to the quality of the bottom of the PL.

That's not a pro Sesko statement, just that there isn't evidence Sesko would need more or less time than gyokores.

Yep, the AV guys and Charles Watts have been trying to emphasize this very point. If you want a proven Prem player----Watkins.

Seeing claims that Nico Williams is demanding lesser wages from Barca than he is from Arsenal & Bayern. If he ends up anywhere but Barca, I have very little doubt in my mind that he will insist on something in his contract that makes it easy to leave for Barca.
