Couldn't tell since the match action was reduced to a blurry 8 inch square.

I just hope they pick good times to do that and not just do it automatically at certain points (like the 13th minute)

How viewable is the game in a 3 by 5 box? Maybe in a true split screen it would work. I don't know, possibly top and bottom half, but two little boxes is no good.

Totally HAS GOT TO GO !

Never watching ABC again, here's why:

    1) Side by Side SUCKS
    2) Stromotion Sucks ALSO
    3) Camera Shots are ALL TOO CLOSE !
    4) They are flying a helicopter around the field for a different camera angle, how annoying is this?

Oh my god, I was so geared up for MLS 10th year, the best season and I get hit with annoyance after annoyance.

Side by side worked pretty well during the injury, though.

Heck the box isn't even 3 by 5, but that is the time to do this if they are going to, during an injury or some other stoppage of time.

Commercials during injuries isn't too bad.

Yeah, it's better than watching someone roll around in "pain" until the trainer arrives.

The Bud ad with nothing but a injured guy hobbling off was perfect. Yeah, the screen could be bigger, but if they use this as judiciously as they have so far, I have no problem with it whatsoever.

And, if you think that boycotting MLS games on TV is anything but a self-absorbed, counterproductive hissy fit, you're an idiot, period.

They are even "wasting" some of the screen area they could be using on the bottom... I hate it.. Hope it doesn't spread to all soccer coverage here on the Mouse .. meaning the nat's games too..

Och, time for another commercial. By the way, anybody go outside to see if they could hear any churchbells ringing?

The commercials within the game can work if done properly. In some Italian games, they'll cut away completely and do a quick 10-second ad, usually either during injury treatment or when a team is getting ready for a set piece. I just hate if they're going to do it during actual game action.

Commercials I believe can be implemented during injuries, throwins, and goal kicks. Not that I love them, but I can deal with them during these senarios.

If they'd get rid of the little box with the score the game could be the same size as the ad. But I guess they don't want that (advertisers want your eyes to be drawn to the bigger box). Too blurry when small (need HDTV I guess) but maybe they could try to get closer shots of the play during breaks and like said already put them in on every stoppage of play.

First time sucked; second time, during the Gomez injury, was a bit better.

while the game screen is small you can still see action. it only lasts 30 seconds, and if anything significant happens they will show a replay in full-screen anyway.

    i don;t mind side-by-side one bit.

I like it. It breaks the monotone of game stops when there are injuries, set pieces and player changes. Plus the commercials are entertaining. There where times I was hoping for a commercial but it did not come out.

Ah. Finish your drink and evacuate your urine, all in the same cup. Now THAT's smart (and quite economical).
