Over/Under on Softball Questions to Bush? Is it too late to get this in...? They (CNN) are saying that the "news conference" is scheduled for 45min to an hour, with Bush launching a 12-minute opening statement. Let's see; assuming that Bush, in get-outta-there-as-fast-as-possible-before-I-say-something-else-stupid fashion, goes with a short conference, that gives just over 30 minutes for questions. At about two minutes a question, I'll establish the over/under for softball questions at 9. AND...I'll take the OVER.

Well, I'd guess Cheney won't be there with him, so maybe they hooked him up with an earpiece to get the answers or some shock-device so that when he goes off on a Bush-ism, they will shock him. Look for pauses in his delivery. I say he will get three, easy to see, softballs, but he will miss on two of them. You see, they can make them easy, but that doesn't mean he will deliver.

Man, in an issue of Esquire magazine I saw at the Doctors Office yesterday, Carlson wrote a piece about his time travelling Iraq with some of those private security contracters... there is this picture of him standing next to these two beefcakes with an AK 47 in his hand... he's pretty silly looking. I guess we should just make this the play by play thread.
