I expect to see Brown on the right wing saturday night... I don't like it, but I expect that to be what we see.

The other option Bob might use would be to go with Gomez on the right wing, and put either Guttierez (depending on injury) or Zotinca in d-mid with Zavagnin.

Same here. Don't like it, but it is what we'll see.

    Meola
    Conrad-Talley-Garcia
    Brown-KZ-Gomez-Quill
    Preki
    Wolff-Igor

Wolff will probably play 60-70 mins and I am not sure of the status of Igor. If unfit Armstrong can come in.

Arnaud and Fabbro wait in the wings if Wolff or Igor break down.

Actually - looking at the other released players - I don't see any "intent" here. Plus, how do we know that KC asked that Klein be released?

This weekend might be Preki's 200th competitive game for the Wizards. Coming into the season he had played 187 regular season and playoff MLS games. Actually, he's probably over 200, considering last year's run in the USOC - oh and the FCCC last year. Nevermind.

But it could very well be Tim Howard's last MLS game for a while.

I may be crazy but Quill hasn't been that impressive. He scored a nice goal against Dallas other than that what has he done?

I'm anti Quill too but he has played much better than he did last year. He has a couple of assists and his work rate has been high. I would still platoon him and Armstrong but Quill may have a bigger upside.

Every day I look in the mail for my invitation to the tailgate. *tear*

How about a 90th minute equalizer against Columbus? That was a good one.

Ok fine but he hasn't been that constant threat. IMO he fades in and out of the match. I would just like really to see Armstrong again on the left. He seems to be a creative threat at times. More worries for the opponent, they can't just focus on Preki.

JP Tailgate invite??? If it is our tailgate, sure come on over say hey, wtf.

I'm pretty sure its been open and common knowledge that anyone and everyone is invited to the tailgates.

I'm sure its also common knowledge that you cant use "sockpuppets" on BigSoccer. JP, either use JPNutter9 or JPNutter8. And check your PMs about this subject.

    Dissed

Dude! I asked that question, and you post it. Grrrr. No i dont care, just thought it was funny.

He also said that Diego is out for at least 2-3 weeks. He is in chicago seeing a Dr. there, so...

That changes things. Arnaud out right, Brown up top with Wolff and Quill out left. Gomez and Kz in the D-mid role with Preks being Preks.

Hmmm. thats the lineup as far as i can tell.

    Tony

    Conrad - Talley - Nicky

    KZ - Gomez

    Arnaud - Preks - Quill

    Wolff - Brown

    Subs: Armstrong for Wolff

He said Arnaud was starting right midfield and had been doing really well in practice this week.

Why didn't any of us think about that before now?

Arnaud played all over the midfield in college. This makes sense.

I'm glad the kid is getting a start. I've been really impressed every time I've seen him

    "FREE DAVEY ARNAUD!!!"

    where duty calls
this game is gonna be great.. both are my teams... although I favor the Wiz.. next week I go to NYC for a month, then I'll root for the Metrostars against the Fire, LA & the Earthquake

NY/NJ is betting they can get past KC with little trouble... see this thread:

Found this blurb interesting from this article:
"Kansas City is a team with no big names but they have one of the best coach’s in this League. Kansas City’s style of play is not very flashy but they stick to the game plan that their coach gives them, which gets the job done. The biggest problem for coach Gansler is finding a player who can unbalance the other team’s defense. But he has gotten the job done and his chances are even greater when they play at home. Even though Mike Preki has a sense of scoring and can ruin any teams night if he is given the opportunity. The absence of Chris Klein due to national team duties will hurt he Wizards because he is a key piece in their midfield."

Mike Preki??? - I actually laughed loudly when I read that. We now need to make signs to "Be Like Mike"... You know the guy who is MLS' points leader, POW, POM... yeah that guy Mike.

No big names? Last I knew Meola, Preki, Wolff, Klein, Guitierez, Garcia were pretty big as far as league names went. Even respectable Nat names.

It's obvious this author still probably has "newbie" status in his peer group of writers. He knows only his own team and very very little about the one they're matching up with.

I was kind of worried at first.

Kent - We welcome Kansas City Wizard Eric Quill to 1340 KCKN.

    [crickets chirping]

Kent -Uh, Eric. Are you there.

    [crickets chirping]

Kent - Eric, where the @#$% are you!

Eric - Oh, Good afternoon Kent!

The preceeding paraphrasing of the shows begining makes liberal use poetic license. :)

But seriously folks, it's GREAT to hear soccer on local sports talk radio. Keep up the good work Kent.

    Don't forget Jewsberry

That dude is a total idiot. The title said; "Metros can get past Kansas"
And I thought I lived in KC, not to mention the team is in Missouri.

Also "Metros can get past Kansas" wow what a powerful statement he sure is going out on a limb. What a tool I hope he enjoys Mike lighting up his team.
