i would imagine they'll play some backups and youngsters in the cup fixture as well so the two games should be different and on somewhat equal footing with eachother.

I want a Capital One Cup Champions shirt and cap to add to my wardrobe, though. That would make me the coolest cat in the hood! heheh

4 game ban and 220 pound (around 365 US) fine. I think Terry has around 2 weeks to appeal, which I assume he will.

He's our third best CB at this point, he's banned for only four games. Honestly, it's not that big a deal. After what the FA did with Suarez (which was also pretty flimsy evidence, mind) they had little choice but find him guilty here. Frankly, I'd prefer the club just move on and not even bothering to appeal. Put this behind us as quickly as possible and go forward.

Completely agree. 4 games is nothing and the fine is pocket change.

Very much agree. He is our third best CB, as tough as that is to admit. However he does have the intangibles that are obviously incalculable.

However our next 4 league matches are Arsenal, Tottenham, Norwich and Manchester United. I don't know if we can afford Terry to be our for some of them. We also have League Cup and Champions League interspersed in there as well. He is free to play in those correct? No reason he can't play in those, give Cahill/Luiz a rest and they play the league.

Ivan can also play center back now that we have a really good RB option in Azpilicueta.

tough line to walk though, on one hand, getting it behind him would be the best thing to do, on another, it admits guilt and defeat by not appealing. the FA are just trying to prove some point now. if i were terry, would i care how many games i missed if the FA found me guilty of something i didn't feel i was guilty of? especially considering the FA seems to breaking their own rules in find him guilty after a civil court found him not guilty.

Anyone want to read a pompous piece of blowhard BS that'll likely make you throw up?

Then look at the background of his Twitter:
    https://twitter.com/johnbrewinespn

It's obvious now what his loyalties are....and this is the ESPN EDITOR! ESPN, the Fox New of Football Reporting.

Anyone remember years ago when Soccernet had the table at the bottom right (not the one now that lists major European Leagues) but where it would randomly pull one of the major league each time you visited. The EPL one never appeared whenever Chelsea was at the top of the table. I have no idea why I continue to subject myself to that site...especially after they hired Harris.

I don't think so. Look at the shit Liverpool got for standing behind Suarez. The best thing would be for Terry to say "I disagree with the verdict, I think it's unfair, but this is my sport's governing body and as a professional I'll abide by its decisions", then spend a few weeks on the bench. The less this lingers the better.
There's more at stake here than Terry's wounded pride. And besides, no matter how much the club sticks up for him, it's not going to change his image in the minds of fans, so why bother? The best he can hope for is that people forget; the more he keeps this in the news the worse it's going to get.

Enough is enough. Move on, sit out 4 PL games, play in CL games, and leave it behind.

I DESPISE John Brewin. The man is a complete and utter tit, completely biased and the vast majority of time just doesn't seem to know what the hell he's talking about when he attempts to break down a game. Completely unbearable, and the main reason I don't deal with Soccernet.

Ferguson cracks a few eggs of knowledge:

"But the fact he got a four-game ban, he may consider that is quite lenient considering Luis Suarez got eight. It is time to move on and so should the game."

How many did he say Racist Rio should get for his comments?

John Brewin is a fat, ugly, neck-bearded troll of a man.

I think his point was more along the lines of "enough is enough".

The "time to move on" part is right, but who is he to say what the right length is?

Nah, still the best atm. Certainly after watching yesterday's game that's confirmed several times over.

If Luiz can figure out where he's supposed to be standing when the ball comes in he and Cahill can be a good partnership in the future but, as he showed, he's not there yet.

    i
ill agree that jt is still better of the 4 cbs (everyone forget about brana) hes a magnet... but i dont agree with the DL criticisz anymore as hes kinda matured imo. I mean he still makes the odd mistake here and there but what defender doesnt. As for Cahil, he has been a huge surprise i thought he wasnt Chelsea material.

The semi final against Barca was the game that did it for me with the Luiz-Cahill partnership.

Also one thing i dont like is when both JT and gazza start together as theyre both fairly slow, and thats why i always want bob with one or the other.

i actually think cahill is much quicker than given credit for personally. he's quite mobil, and at one point in time led the league in last defender challenges. i also agree, that i wasn't sure he was chelsea quality, but he's shown he completely belongs.
