We don't seem to have many players you can give us some solid play down our wings. Stanic is a bit lazy and doesn't have the crosses that Jimbo and Franco can get on the end of. Same sort of thing with Jesper. Great pace but lacks in the end product. Someone who is just got bags of high-energy level is Bowyer. He's had a few problems, but with being free, he'd be a good signing.
Bowyer Lee Bowyer is a good player and its a good price, but you just know the lad is an idiot and that he'll be trouble off the pitch, I just don't see him as a Ken Bates man, I don't see him as a Ranieri type of player. I see Woodgate is being linked with the toon for 10 million. Nice to see El Tel, totally detroying the Leeds team. Fowler the coke snorting scally is off to Maine Road and Dubberry is off to Brum. Will CR and chelsea be dipping into the transfer market in the window? I reckon we should try to strengthen the midfield - to make up for the dissapointing Gronks, Zenden and De Lucas. But who is out there? Who is available? Who would join the Chelsea at the mo, or to get the players we need in the long term will we have to get in the CL first? Joe cole from the hammers? Owen Hargreaves from Baryern? David Dunn?
Julian Gray Julian Gray, 23 year old Lewisham born lad, currently playing at Crystal Palace, formerly of Arsenal. Could be an interesting buy for us, currently linked with Charlton.
I can't really see us dipping into the transfer market and buying someone for excessive amounts of money, considering the current climate of the football economy. A possibility will be a loan deal, where we pay a certain percentage of the player’s wage. But in football today, their will be more loans than ever. I’d say a good winger who is young got bags of talent and of course is English is Michael Tonge. Though I’m not sure weather he’d be available. Savio of Real Madrid is also a decent player, who we’ve been linked to before.
I don't think Gronks and Bolo have been too disappointing in the past 6 weeks, but they aren't getting enough time on the pitch. I'm not saying play both of them, but the fact is that we have a more potent attack when one of these 2 is on the pitch instead of De Lucas or Stanic. Stanic is only worthwhile at set pieces in the box and although De Lucas is finally getting himself into some good positions to score he is not finishing them off. When he does this he leaves his wing open to attack as well. Zenden was very good vs Villa and I don't think he has played more than 45 min since then. Gronks has the ability to stretch the defense and his crossing is improving ever so slightly, plus he has learned to track back well. I think the ideal midfield is Lamps and Petit in the middle and Soxy on the left when he is 100% healthy. Then play Gronks or Bolo on the RW to start. If we need more defense bring on Morris or De Lucas at the half, and if we are losing out at set pieces bring on Stanic. If Soxy isn't 100% then start with Zenden on the left and De Lucas or Stanic on the right. Bring Gronks on around 60 min, shift EDL/Stanic to LW and we are all set. Seems fairly simple to me. Hass and Guddy to each bag one tomorrow, and I hope to see young Carlton for a few minutes as well. 2-0 to the Blues.
Almost forgot: NO BOWYER!!! Unless he could somehow slide off the pitch in the next match vs Arsenal and break both of Wenger's legs. No money for Cole, Hargreaves, Dunn. The most we can expect is a few more free transfers and under-20 pickups. And Carlo should regain his form, New Years was just a fluke.
