On the Celtic official page's post game show follliwng the Dunfermline game, the panel was discussing a hypothetical situation in which the OF would be allowed into the English league PROVIDED they started from the very bottom, the Third Divison, and work their way up. The panelists were very much in favor of this idea. What do all the OF supporters think about this? IMHO, this is not the optimal solution, but better the grab the life-line of this "start from the bottom" scenario than remaining on the sinking ship of the SPPL. With all the teams going into admin, before long the SLP will consist of the OF plus part-timers giants like Stranraer, Alloa, Whitehall Welfare and the like...hell they might even bring back Third Lanark while they are ay it!
Whilst the English Premiership exists there will be no need for Rangers & Celtic to progress through the lower leagues. The Premiership is a separate entity from the English Football League and as such can admit whichever FA member clubs they want. They could, in theory, admit the team finishing 14th in the English 3rd Division provided the Premiership governing body and the EFL bigwigs agreed on it beforehand. If the Old Firm were granted FA membership (this is where the problem with UEFA lies) then the Premiership would then be able to invite them to join the league anytime they wanted. I'll leave it to the Old Firm fans to decide whether they'd accept working their way up from the lower leagues as an option... However, UEFA have always said that teams would not be allowed to switch associations as long as a "viable league" was operational in their home country. A league with Alloa and Stranraer would unquestionably be a poor one, but it would still be "viable".
