To create maximum amount of that crazy san jose atmosphere and all. Don't you guys think it wud be better to have them next to eachother. It will be easier to not interupt one another in chants and you will be able to chant with one another. Still can be different supporter groups just united under the earthquake cause. What do u guys think?

The idea is good, but the nature of the two groups makes it a bit awkward.
The Casbah is a family oriented group.
The Ultras are more of a rated "R" group.
Two great options if you want to get involved.

    In a word NO.

The big games in Oakland yes because of the size of the venue, but at Buck Shaw no way we each have our own agendas on game day and it is better with one SG at each end.

honestly. i think this definition is outdated

the difference goes beyond being family oriented or being R rated.
and it goes beyond literally saying "we're/they're more hardcore."

    the styles are just different.

two SGs with the same goal of supporting the team.
    two SGs with different approaches.

plus, the cross-stadium back forth chants brought a chill to my spine.

Yeah. It is not like we hate the Casbah, nor do they hate us.

Just like what anotherstar said...we just bring two different styles of support.

I knew this thread was gonna be blown up (in comparison to other SG threads) once I saw it open haha

sorry i wasn't try to create controversy. I do understand that both the SGs do have a different style and it is probably best to keep them apart. I hope both the SGs can continue to grow so when we get our new stadium both SGs will look super sexy and the atmosphere will be great.

    No

    No

    and No...

Each has their own unique style--they're better suited to be on opposite sides. While it was nice at the Coliseum to have them together, at Buck Shaw having them on each side of the goal gives that place a "12th player" effect.

Fans are going to find their own niche--be hanging out with their kids with the Casbah or being rowdy with the teenage/college crowd/Eurocentric style of the Ultras.

Now, I do think it's only a matter of time until a third Supporter's Group is formed, with apologies to Club Quake and Soccer Silicon Valley--which are more of a Booster Club.

It's going to come a time at the future Epicenter where they will be on opposite sides.

Actually, if I could change something, I would put the Casbah across from the Ultras.

Good. Then we can hear you guys better.

[and haven't we gone over this "SG's next to each other" debate recently?"]

I have an SG. A very nice guitar. It's loud. It rocks. It's louder and rocks harder with beer.
    SGs rock. :D

i agree with this post, that would be pretty cool.. easy to get the EARTH-QUAKE cross stadium chant going.

this off season is killing me even though west ham is on the telly all the time - roll on march.

my season tickets are in 103 next year and i'll be continuing to support the quakes in my own style - i like trying to spread the chants from the ultras and casbah both, when i hear em.

    LOL! Yes I apologize! :D

Was thinking more along of the old Aftershocks, which Club Quake is more based on. However, the unique element of SSV is the advocate's role and so forth in which I'll let you explain on that. We can go on, but merge the booster club along with advocacy and philantrophy--the result is making a difference.

OK back to the SG's discussion. :p

Get it going! For the most part, we understand that some don't like being IN the supporter section, but enjoy what we do. Do your thing and get any chants started, our boys in blue appreciate every ounce of it.

I think this is the sort of look&feel we should go for at Oakland, if not at buck Shaw

Yes, I had to learn Turkish.
These threads are funny. People, who are not even members of the Casbah or Ultras, think that they can put both groups together, by posting on Bigsoccer. Actually, not just put us together, but making us "sit". To make it clear: We are friends with some of the Casbah guys, we drink together before and after the games. Due to our different style, ideologies, policies, chants, etc, we will NOT be standing next to each other at Buckshaw. It's better for both groups. Both ends of the stadium are covered by Quakes supporter groups, and that's the best way to be. This is official, so TO, I hope you got your answer.
