Get ready to move all the teams to Cali, Texas, Florida and the South. Or, get ready for lots of domes and turf.

The specific wording was "FIFA calendar". All that means is that they will honor all FIFA international dates, not necessarily playing through winter.

I don't see the league ever moving to a winter schedule. What I do see coming out of this is MLS better accommodating the international dates in the schedule.

MLS could very well take a break in the winter like ze Germans do. Still is very cold in February in Chicago though. That wind is killer.

I was going to say no because the season ends before winter starts (December 20-22), but then I remembered that the season now starts in early March, so you sir are correct.

Should we follow the European schedule? No. No we shouldn't. Should we honor FIFA international dates? As much as we can. I thought the WC/MLS schedule was ok this year.

I'm not sure Blatter knows the difference between the FIFA calendar and a fall-spring schedule. He has, in the past, used the two interchangeably.

Yes, and because of that confusion, Blatter probably assumes that MLS has agreed to fall-spring, when in fact it probably only agreed to obey FIFA international dates.

Does he mean the Euro season that Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Faroe Islands use? We do!

Not going to happen, most teams have a hard enough time getting fans to come out in June/July and August. How many will they get in late November/December and early January?

Sepp Blatter also said that racism in football was dead before Euro 2012.

In other words, Blatter knows no more about soccer than the average BigSoccer poster.

Well Korea and Japan are not in Europe like the teams listed on the post you quoted.

IAsoc point was that there is no Euro calendar because lots/many European countries schedule their season different than the popular European leagues.

But I believe you are listing other countries that play similar schedules as the USA, you can add China and Brazil if that is the case.

I'm more interested in the bride money. All of this time I thought the money was going into bribes that could be directly linked to him. Instead it's going to brokers with bridal organizations.
