Rui Costa is too passionate about Benfica to coach them and could end up being a hot head. Plus he has zero experience. Good former players don't always make for great coaches and nowadays, they need schooling or they will just end up like Paulo Bento.

Laudrop and Miroslav Djukic are coaches names circulating in the media.

Laudrup just qualified Swansea--by virtue of winning the League Cup--to the EL and finished a very respectable 9th. Doubtful that he'd wanna leave such a cushy job.

Rui Costa could always start as an assistent coach, learn the ropes and take over eventually.

That's a terrible idea. 0 experience coaching. Where do you ever see a coach with absolutely 0 experience coaching ever succeed? It's a nice fairy tale store, but let's leave it as a fairy tale. A team like Benfica needs an experienced man in charge.

Madrid fans seem to want laudrup as manager. Don't know if there's any rumors around that or not but Benfica can't compete with Madrid.

Doesn't really matter anyway, looks like JJ is staying. LVP has a huge hard on for him. My last hope is that he become jupp heynckes, who had a very similar season before the epic triumphs of this year.....but of course thats wishful thinking at best.

That's also a team that didn't lose anybody and gained a terrific FW and probably the best CDM in the world. Benfica is probably going to lose the impressive peices, per usual

It means Rui Costa would probably do a terrible job and ruin his reputation. He needs to learn the ropes first.

I disagree. It's Benfica, so already guaranteed a top 2 finish (talent and refs) so not sure he's be worse than JJ.

Just a pipe dream anyway, not even being discussed.

But goodness gracious, do I hate Jorge Jesus.

Let's wait and see if it's really official. Sounds that way, but lets wait and see. I'm not shocked if it is because where the heck was JJ going to go and retain his salary? I think they need to reduce his pay and add some incentive comp based on attaining some objectives. Also, LFV didn't have any contingency in place because the clown thought the liga and taca were all but guaranteed and the EL was icing on the cake. What clowns. The club should be called Sport Lisboa e Bifanas.

im guessing it was JJ's fault that Artur laid frangos vs Porto and Guimaraes? It's JJ's fault that hs players failed to capitalize on their many opportunites vs Chelsea? Its' JJ's fault that he wasn't gvien proper players to play in their position.

I'm fine with JJ staying but to me LFV has got to go! I remember what it was like before JJ. Maybe you all forgot what it was like to have 3 coaches a season, finish in 4th or 5th and get embarrassed in Europe.

I will admit though he has a VERY short leash next season.

If Porto can't replace Moutinho/James/Mangala then you guys can finish first

Porto have always been able to replace players. Never been an issue. Josue is quality.

I'm sorry but a club like Benfica in the Portuguese league deserves to win more than twice a decade.

But if you want to settle for second best, that's on you. Go support arsenal so you can have another team that will never win shit. Jackass

It's ********ing hysterical that Porto wins the league and the fans STILL want to replace their coach. But Benfica fans looooove settling for JJs nonsense. I hope they never win anything as long as he is coach. It's bullshit.
