Shootout package on Charter Digital Cable in GA? I have been in constant check with the indemand website and the Charter Communications website and I haven't seen anything about the Shootout being offered here in Georgia. Can anyone give me some info? Thanks! Spectre
Noting is finalized as yet. Just hold on it should be appearing at your digital cable or what ever cable system you are using soon. Let,s hope so.
I've been asking my Charter to add MLS Shootout and FSW ever since they became available with no luck. Can't use a dish where I'm at right now.
I really hope so! If I can get this, then I will be getting ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, FSW, FSW Espanol, Galavision, Telemundo, Univision, and Telefutura.... A soccer fan's dream!!!! )
MOD NOTE I changed the title so we can focus on all digital cable issues and not just one system. thanks.
I talked to RCN here in Boston last week, and they said to call back closer to the season. Did anyone go through them last year?
I emailed indemand early last week and still haven't received a reply. I'll be contacting them again later today. Use the link below if you want to ask them about shootout yourself. http://indemand.com/about/contactUs.jsp
Try e-mailing sports@indemand.com They usually answer pretty quickly, but it's often just CSRs so the answers aren't the greatest. But it's usually consistent and accurate.
I e-mailed Charter yesterday... ... and no reply as of today. I'll probably be waiting for a reply sometime into late next week. It is so weird though. We had the Shootout package here in Georgia last year. I was going to buy it, but they pulled it off of the lineup a week into the season. I was ticked off BIG time! And now, stupid NASCAR has 7 channels to watch IN CAR coverage of a race?!?! for 3 hours, what kind of enjoyment is that?!?! Man, I am upset with Charter. And I find out today that they are separating their channels into packages. So now, I have to pay an additional 4 dollars to get FSWE, TV Chile and a few other channels.. Man, I wish I knew spanish! I also used the contact form at http://mlsnet.com/contact.html and directed my question to MLS broadcasting. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything but you might also want to use the contact form as well. The more inquiries they get on the subject the better.
Would a mod please change the on the title to something more neutral. It gives me a heart attack every time I go to this board.
I just received a response from InDemand via the sports@indemand.com email address. They responded in about 4 hours. Below is their response to my question of when and if they will be offering the MLS Shootout package this year.... Hi- Information regarding the launch of the MLS Shootout package (beginning April 12th) is now just being released to each cable system, so, they should be ready to take orders in the next week or so. Hope that helps! John
thanks so everyone should keep emailing and calling their local cable systems they want your money, make them work for it
Yeah, I got the same thing... ... with a little extra Hi- Information regarding the launch of the MLS Shootout package (beginning April 12th) is now just being released to each cable system, so, they should be ready to take orders in the next week or so. We're not sure why Charter didn't offer the full package last year, iN DEMAND offered the full season after our late launch date. This year, Saturday night games after September will be subject to tape delay due to scheduling conflicts with ESPN GamePlan. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Spectre
Re: Yeah, I got the same thing... Given that iNDEMAND only has a finite number of channels for the non-NBA sports packages, and given that they gotta show a bunch of college football games in addition to the MLS games on Saturdays on that finite number of channels starting in September, I guess that's understandable.
Re: Re: Yeah, I got the same thing... Since they are telling us (and MLS who found out later than fans last year) ahead of time, I can deal. Now if we can sell more packages than college football, we may have some leverage.
I wish we could sell a lot too!! That might be the reason why they pulled the package off of my cable system so that they could show their WNBA and NASCAR IN car coverage. Only problem is that here in Athens the NASCAR channels take up from 823 to 830... but only on sundays and some saturday night races. Plenty of channel room for MLS games. Spectre P.S. Deportivo Cali and Libertad of Paraguay is on FSWE! I am recording it for a friend. Whoo Hoo!!
Re: Yeah, I got the same thing... It's good that they're putting this piece of information out there at the beginning. We don't need any threads like last season with people playing lawyer. I contacted my local Time Warner office last night and the CSR didn't know anything about the package; since it didn't show on iNDEMAND's web site he assumed it wasn't offered this season. I'll give them a call in a week or so and hopefully they'll be ready.
Re: Re: Yeah, I got the same thing... When in doubt, find the e-mailor phone number of your company's GM or director of programming and let them know you want it. The CSRs are slaves to what's n the computer and sometimes it has to go through a few levels to get to them - from iNDemand to a regional rep to the local company to the program guy yada, yada, yada. I have been very lucky in that the GM of my company has been very responsive along with the person who deals with iNDemand. Others on the board have had luck with their local programming director. Be civil, polite and let them know you want to spend your money. Don't make it a soccer issue because they get complaints from so many cliques. Make it an economic issue and they should listen.
