Shootout on Mediacom(Iowa) digital cable.. well sorta Well, after a week of runaround, nobody returning my calls/messages, I finally, yesterday, got ahold of a Jerri Williams, of Mediacom, here in Des Moines, Iowa. She said she'd investigate. Around here, we haven't had Shootout in years. It was carried years back, when it was TCI cable (who was bought by AT&T, who then sold to Mediacom) but with only one PPV channel at the time. Jerri Williams called me back (fast response is good!) this afternoon to tell me that Shootout games will be available but not as a package deal rather on a pay per game basis. She didn't know offhand what the per game price would be but said she would find out and send the information when, next week, she mails out a schedule and a coupon, that I can use on the games (compensation for lack of response from others is good too!). $49.95 for all the games would be nice but at least this is something, as opposed to previous years. Hopefully the package price will available next year.
Well nobody responded, so maybe nobody cares but thought I'd post a folowup. I had Jerri ask around and find out if the $49.95 price was possible to be sure. I was called back today by another person (Jerri is out of town) and told that the package price was currrently not available due to the PPV provider they used. Individual games would be priced at 5.99. It's better than nothing but I wonder if I should just pay a bar in town the $100 to buy it commercial or start looking for a dish. (Which is what I told the guy that called today)
The games are still not in the guide data for tomorrow. I just got off the phone with Mediacom. The first person I called had no idea what I was talking about neither did their supervisor. I called back and got someone who knew what I was talking about. They said there was an issue with getting it into the system. They said it would hopefully be in by tomorrow but if not people can buy it over the phone. May have to call a couple times cuz many reps are clueless.
