I am a new subscriber to the Shootout package. I've been having this problem and I'm trying to figure out if it is common with other fans, or if it is just a problem with my local cable system. The sound is always a bit off. The sound gets transmitted, it seems, half a second before the video does. This is not a problem durring the play by play, although it's funny to hear a ball getting kicked before it does. But, it makes watching the interviews very irritating. Is anyone else having this trouble? Ted.
Yes, I have noticed that same problem. Most recently, last night's game. I only really notice the problem when they show a talking head as well. I just shrug my shoulders and I to continue to watch the best sports package out there. And yes, I also thought this thread was going to be about the upcoming theatrical movie. Cheers.
Hand raised I have the same problem though. Are we all on digital cable? If so, somebody should write sports@indemand.com about it.
But, y'all did check the thread though...so my purpose was achieved. I said "Kung Fu Movie" because of the sound and lips moving were out of synch...you see...uh...it's funny...really...okay...no. Ted.
I am sure that a lot of the people who checked out your thread were curious about what you had to say about the movie "Shaolin Soccer." By chance, a subset of those people are also MLS Shootout subscribers (e.g. me). Meanwhile, there is a group of Shootout subscribers out there, with no interest in a "Kung Fu movie" who are largely ignoring your thread. You are missing your target audience BTW, I recognized and appreciated the humor of your thread's title after reading the contents. Clever.
hand also raised... ...i've also had the same problem with the lip synching business. it's definitely distracting when they're showing the announcers. i'm also on digital cable (Cox in San Diego).
Hand raised, in Tucson on Cox Digital Cable. It's probably an InDemand thing. Funny, I thought this thread was going to be that someone's cable provider screwed up and was showing a Kung Fu movie on a Shootout channel at some bizzare hour when there was supposed to be nothing on the channel. Given that the league went pretty easy on Kovalenko, perhaps a Bruce Lee marathon would be appropriate.
I see it on most Shootout games as well... it's not WAY off, but enough to notice when there's someone's face onscreen. Comcast digital cable just outside Denver.
I sent an email to InDemand informing them of the problem and giving them a quick list of locations and cable systems affected that were listed in this thread. I also sent a link to this thread to them.
My response from InDemand: "Yes, we've seen this from other people and it appears to be a feed problem. We've passed the comment onto MLS."
Maybe I should have made a Milli Vanilli reference instead? Be glad you aren't in the County on ComCast...those are the bozos that knocked out service durring the US-Germany game. Ted.
