Police in London are trying a new shock tactic in the war on drugs. Images showing the decline of addicts will be shown on posters, bar mats and flyers. This first image shows Roseanne Holland at the age of 29 before her drug habit took hold.

The pictures in the link are truly shocking, as it shows the decline of a person physically. But it states that the decline internally is even worse.
Do you think that this would deter people from drug taking?

    IT may.

Just look at those Truth.com ads. Those are shock tactics. They had an influence of sorts on me.

Aren't they looking at putting some pretty gruesome pictures on cigarette packets over here showing mouth cancers etc. to try and deter people from smoking too? Obviously a widespread policy.

No I don't think it will really help. There are drugs, drugs and drugs and they're all quite different.

Once youngsters figure that out the effect (if there is one at all) is gone.

It may, appearance is generally important, even more so to women.

I have to say that I didn't find the pictures too shocking. They were taken over a 9 yr period right ? Looks like she lost less than 100 pounds.

Would you stop eating if they put up before and after photos of people who became fat over a ten year period ?
