Can anyone tell me who wore the #13 shirt for Liverpool during the 1992-1993 season.

I was just given an authentic 92-93 away centenary shirt as a gift with the number 13 on the back. I was trying to find out who wore that number, but I can't find a web site that gives that information.

It's actually quite funny that I was given that shirt as a gift, as it was a replica 92-93 away shirt that I was given as a gift 10 years ago that led to me becoming a Liverpool supporter.

    Anyway, thanks for any help.

Wow! Quite a score. I'm not sure who wore that number, though. I've purchased a few programmes of big matches on eBay, but not that one.

How was your trip, by the way?

    We want details!

I am not so sure players were assigned numbers then. So whoever got picked that day would wear that number.

The next season players started wearing names and numbers I think.

So you might have to find out which match it was from and then track down a programme for the match.

The squad in 1992/1993 can be found at:

Correct, kopiteinkc, squad numbers were implemented in 93/94.

You didn't doubt me did you? :D

I do know we played one of those world club championship or a super cup game earlier in the 80s and we wore names then. But it was a one-off.

But not common practice till 93/94.

Thanks guys. I forgot about the fact that a player didn't always have a set number. Was 92/93 THAT long ago? So I have a substitutes jersey.

And when I said "authentic" I didn't mean one worn by a player, just that I thought it was not a mere replica. Maybe I'm wrong about that. On the one I just got, the centenary club crest is embroidered as is the addidas logo, whereas on the replica I got back in 1993 the crest and addidas logo were raised felt embossed like the Carlsberg logo. That's why I figured this one was likely the same as those worn by the team.

As to the trip to Liverpool and Anfield, maybe tomorrow night I will have time to write a report of sorts. For now, let me say it was a wonderful trip, only tainted a little because of the dismal showing against Valencia in the CL match.
