    Shinji Ono faded away?

How is he doing at Urawa?
Is there any chance he goes back to Europe?
Shame repeated injuries affected his career. :(

He played 1998 World Cup at 18 and after he helped Feyenoord win UEFA Cup in 2002, many big clubs chased him.
He is still the most talented (not successful) Japanese footballer ever imo.

He has his flashes of brilliance, but overall not the same player that helped Feyenoord win the UEFA Cup anymore.

But you can't expect the quality he showed in Feyenoord. After leaving Feyenoord, he became nobody.

If it wasn't for the injuries he'd be where Nakamura is now.

Or on to even greater things. He has the skills, but I reckon he was a more intelligent player on the field as well.

through 12 rounds he started 10 matches and has 1 goal and 2 assists with Urawa. it would be surprising to see Shinji move to another European club. not saying that he is not good enough, because he is realy talented, just that i think he will see more action if he stays in Japan. and Japan might benefit more if he stays.

    Re: Shinji Ono faded away?

Ono is certainly technical, but mainly a playmaker. Play-making is an art. It has 2 parts to it - First, amplify the strengths of your teammates. If that isn't enough, grab them by the scruff of the neck and lead them to victory.

Ono only has the former. Basically, he is only as good as his teammates let him be. It's a vicious cycle, because nobody will see how good he is till he is with world class players, which won't happen till somebody sees how good he is and buy him. Catch 22 for Ono I'm afraid.

    Hey what's wrong with you?
Why coming here just to stir the waters?
If you have an argument, please bring it on, otherwise please refrain from ramdoms insults.
Korean players might be fantastic (well, some of them), but it has nothing to do with this thread, or with this forum.
Perhaps you should post somewhere else about them: here it just makes it look as you want to pick up an argument.

Racist or not... there is no reason to point that out in public.

Btw, that's a warning from me to everyone who uses the Japanese forum. Do not agitate other users. I know people get little hot headed with Japanese, Korean, and Chinese politics/history, but if there is a problem, ignore it and report straight to me. When other users retaliates, that's when the thread becomes a mess and problematic.

Will Ono shine once again? He's still 27, he may have his last chance yet...
Well, I guess it's a wishful thinking on my part, but still...

shunsuke is 28 and at the top of his game. ono could just be going through a rough period now, but if he wants to make a move he should make it before he turns 30.
