    3 minutes of stopage.

Simek on good challge on Doyle denies chance.

Ingemarson heads out for corner. Close call.

    Wed. are pressing hard.

    FT 1-1.

Lots of drama in last few minutes (including Reading dropping their audio feed), but Reading hang on for a point.

Need to win next week for the points record and 3 goals to reach 100.

Did the earlier post say the Convey caused the PK by tripping Simek in the box?

now a win in their final game will give them the points record for the division.

Wow... Simek must be a pretty adventerous back to be in the box like that... I haven't really read many summaries of his play, though I'm sure a few heads in here got to watch him in action today...

I'd really like a write up on how Frankie Simek looked.

a win and three goals gives them the record and also a unique 100(+) points and 100 goals double. The record goals is rather more difficult, needing a slightly challenging 37 against QPR to equal Peterborough's 134 goal 60/61 haul. If QPR can field their cricket team, as Bon Accord apparently did when losing to Arbroath 36-0 for the record British victory, it may still be on.

Those who consider Peterbrough's 134 a large tally should ponder the reformed Lokomotiv Leipzig's inaugrual season in 2004, who pluckily sneaked the championship (German 11th division) with 316 goals in just 26 matches.

What are the odds of that? For Simek to be so far up and Convey so far back defending, and for the two Americans to intersect in this way to decide the game.

Either that or Americans have become so dominate that no one else matters.

Check the action on a 1-1 tie - I'm thinking the fix was in.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but today was the first time I saw it:

Convey celebrates Reading's promotion by even throwing his shorts into the stands. The Reading fans respond with the ole ole Con-vey chant. Its good stuff.

When I read about this at Yanks Abroad, the meaning of life was suddenly revealed to me. But I'm not telling.

Saw the highlights this morning. Simek beat Convey coming in on the right side of the box. Bobby gave him a kick in the leg with a last try to get the ball, and only got Frankie. Looked a bit sloppy, but it's ok when you have over 100 points.

Well he doesn't have much experience defending in the box so it is good to learn today instead of in June.

we all better pray that Bobby is not doing a lot of defending in the box. If Bobby is spending a lot of time in his won box that must mean we are getting murdered.

This isn't what happened. It was Doyle to Oster to Kitson. It was Oster with the run as well.

Convey celebrated with Kitson right after coming in from his left wing position. Oster was on the center mid position when he gave it to Kitson.

Not directly linked to this thread, but Hahnemann was named in the PFA CCC team of the year, along with Sonko, Shorey, Sidwell and Doyle. No Convey (or Little), which is something of a surprise, but there you go.

Yeah - the Reading announcers said Convey, as did their write-up, but when I heard an interview by Kitson later in the day say it was Oster... I figured, well, he was a little closer to the action... maybe it was Oster.

    Maybe?
I would tend to believe Kitson - goalscorers who mention the person that gave teh assist tend to get it right. :)
