Pardon me for my late response to the Stevenage result, but I've been crying into my Cheerios for a couple of days, and I've only just emerged from my funk to wipe the dried milk off my nose. Jesus Christ, what an absolute disgrace. Words fail me.

yeah, it really was mandatory that we got 3 from this... probably more for megson's job security than the club. i'm actually a little bit surprised mandy didn't sack him after the stevenage incident. that was just simply unacceptable. we still continue to let in goals at an alarming rate.
i think mandaric has shown himself to be a bit more reluctant to open the wallet than most thought he'd be coming in. megson may or may not get wednesday out of the 3rd tier with his players, but he's probably more likely to do so than someone else is with his players. and i don't think milan is in a hurry to resupply a new gaffer, particularly considering how drastically he wanted GJM to cut the wage bill. so i think meggo's going to get a bit more leeway than most fans expect (particularly in light of how frequently mandy's sacked managers in the past). so long as promotion's a reasonable prospect, i suspect he'll stay. ... that said, he'll probably get the sack come sunday, proving how little i know of what i speak.
Better result today. OK, it was only Exeter, but the thing I liked was how we didn't get frustrated being held goalless for so long, and scored two quick ones before half time. Up to seventh in the table because Huddersfield could only get a point at home to Orient, and MK Dons tied on the road with Bury. We're actually in seventh on goal difference only - if we hadn't had that disaster against Stevenage (lost only 1-0 maybe), we would be fourth, just a point behind the Blunts and four back from Charlton. Cautious optimism perhaps? Gary Madine, Goal Scoring Machine. Oh, and BTW, when did we sign Stephen Bywater?

by all accounts the effort was there for all 90, and the team seems to be coming of the right mind. maybe meggo knows what he's doing* with all the running ... the yelling ... the moving on of certain players. *though i obviously won't go suggesting that just anywhere.
