We've drawn Sheffield for the next match, at Sheffield United...

Good result for us, we avoided Chelsea and Arsenal, and as luck would have it they are matched up...

Also, the Leeds side that dropped out of the Worthington Cup was in very bad form. The current Leeds side is doing quite well, and I think they are far more likely to prevail.

    finally some good news

matteo might be back for the game and the blades will be without Wayne Quinn and Peter Ndlovu because of suspension. Ndlovu was the one who scored the late goal against us in the worthington cup.

Tonge (ankle) Steve Yates (hamstring) might not be playing either.

    Goal for Sheffield...

    Kabba 77'

Brown almost scores from a freekick, but Robinson makes probably the save of the year for Leeds... Should of been 2-0 for Sheff...

    Full Time... Match Over...

    Sheffield 1 Leeds 0

    Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, Horrible...

If we play this way the rest of the season, we're getting relegated... The way Okon and Mills played today they couldn't make it in MLS... Don't know the extent of Kewell's injury but he should of scored in the first half on an easy try...

In the most important match of our year, we easily played are worst of the year...

Soccernet.com is reporting that Kewell has a back injury and will be out for the rest of the season. It seems Kewell spends at least half of each season injured.

The match report described a Leeds team playing with "... lack of heart " and "languid". I think you're right, Darr. Leeds will be fighting relegation.

Well, I think that just killed any hope of taking anything from this season.
    What an absolute failure :(

Is Kewell really done for the year? Does anyone have a link?

Wouldn't suprise me, typical Kewell. Shows signs of really exploding, then just gets injured :(
Give me some time and I'll try to find a link or a quote

    From the www.leedsunited.com match report:
'Venables made a change at half-time with Eirik Bakke coming on to replace the injured Harry Kewell. '

    And this: http://www.leedsunited.com/lufcnews.asp?article=136269:
'United lost Harry Kewell for the second half after the Aussie striker complained of spasms in his back and was barely able to walk,'

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=83247&cc=3436:
'Kewell was then substituted at the break after sustaining a recurrence of a back injury,'

Found nothing about it being season ending, but it could very well be true with an injury of that nature...
