What a match. Forest were leading 2-nil, Sheff Utd pull it back and make it 2-2. Now in extra time and Sheff Utd have gone 3-2 up. Not too long left in 2nd half of extra time. No away goals, no golden goal. Winner plays Wolves.
Oh no, an own goal from Des Walker and Sheff Utd must be through, 4-2 up! Hang on, Forest just scored, 4-3. Bloody hell, what a match. 2 minutes left!
What a game. This is what the playoffs are all about. Rather embarassing own goal by Des Walker, and didn't it matter!
What a match, my boys left it late yet again. You can never count the Blades out. They keep fighting and battling to the end. Warnock has instilled great team spirit amongst the lads and a never say die attitude. I'm very proud of every last one of 'em. All the Warnock haters can **** off. Forest are a good side, it's a shame only 1 of us could book a place to Cardiff. Maybe next year. Bring on Wolves, Up the Blades!!!!! Cheers, GQ
That was heart-wrenching, but I have to say the Blades have earned their spot in the final. They've had a great season. Oh well, there's always next season...
In his best Vic Rauter (Canadian TV announcer) impersonation.... "Paul Peschiiiisoooliiidooo!!" I suppose only Canadian fans would understand this... I taped the game because of Pesch and I am glad he didn't let me down.
Not only was that an incredible game to watch, but the emotions on display in the crowd were just incredible too. I was exhausted just watching as a neutral!
A disappointing finish to a fantastic game. Being in the US where we don't see much First Division football, these last two games were the first I've had a chance to see these two teams play, but by halftime of the first leg I was already a confirmed fan of the way Forest plays the game, and deeply against Sheffield Utd. The announcers tonight would go on about how terrific Sheffield could be when they were really passing the ball... but when might that be? Aside from the nice strike by Kabba, I didn't see any great skill. What a lot of divers and thugs. About all they did around the ball through both games was shove off and fall down. It was the only way they could compete. Forest plays with a lot of skill and flair, and it's just too bad that Harewood had to leave after he got knocked in the head. That was a real setback to his side. Well, I was hoping to see Forest play in the Premier League next season. As a 'neutral,' I don't often have such a strong reaction to watching a game. I guess I've been won over by Forest, just like that. I enjoyed them a lot, and I think they could hold their own up in the Premiership. Instead, it'll be Wolves or this miserable Sheffield team. What a shame. Better luck next year, Forest.
I was absoluted gutted by the result. Forest had been playing very badly going into the playoffs but played very well for the first 60 minutes. They just collapsed. I was listening to the match on BBC Radio Nottingham and will tonight watch the match on tape. Although I won't get to see the last 15 minutes as my cable company carries FSW on a parttime basis and switched to FS Detroit at 5:00PM. I would think that United will beat Wolves. They seem to be just that much better.
http://www.geocities.com/castmind/kabba.html Here's Kabba's strike for anyone who missed it-crazy match. Looking forward to the final.
I guess not. Jimmy Brennan is my favourite Cdn nat'l team player, and it's too bad he won't get a chance to go through to the Premiership with Forest. There are rumours abound that so EPL teams are looking to sign Brennan, but I have a feeling he'll stick with Forest (since they have a great shot of making it to the Premiership next season). As for Pesch, I can still remember him as a 16 year old playing for the Toronto Blizzard (and I'm only 23). He was one of my first soccer idols and I hope he and the Blades can fend off the Wolves and get promoted.
Yes, they'll all fall to their knees and pray when Christ returns to Hillsbrough while hell freezes over. ....oh, wait, that's what will happen when Sheffield Wednesday score.
