As an interlude to my annual Sheep Draft, I am pleased to announce the commencement of the first ever Sheep Draft for current players. Those of you not familiar with the process may want to take a look at the thread for the last Sheep Draft, where the general rules are explained, and the recap thread showing how the picks panned out. https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/sheep-draft-3-main-thread.1939463/ https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/sheep-draft-3-recap-thread.1939750/ With this being only for current players, players for this draft should be judged on performances from the end of the 2010 World Cup to the end of the 2012 European Championships (with a bit of leeway for those playing in leagues running in the calendar year), with players being assessed on their best season of the two. This will allow for players who may have missed a large part of last season to still be considered. Criteria for selection may be based on single season performance over the elligibilty period (eg select a player who scored 20 goals in a season), an achievement at any point in the elligibility period (eg select a player who has been sent off) or a career acheivement (eg select a player who has 100 caps). I'm looking to start this in a couple of weeks or so, so if you're interested this is the place to sign up. If you've never taken part in a Sheep Draft before, don't worry - all you need is a reasonable knowledge of active players and some time to put towards a bit of research into finding appropriate players. Typically these drafts last for around 8 or 9 weeks, so you will need to be able to commit to this or join as a partner with another drafter. Looks like plenty of interest so far, but you can count me in if the numbers are on the small side as you approach kick-off. If there's 16 or more teams without me I dunno, I might give it a miss after all, just observe and wait for the next All-Time version. If I do take part, I wouldn't mind being solo or being a partner for someone who wanted one.
I should probably not do this for a while because life is hectic at the moment, but I would be tempted to go in with a partner. When will it start?
