As an FYI, Smith now is cleared to play for the Thorns. We might -- or might not -- see her tomorrow in a Thorns pre-season game, but she will be on the game roster.
The train station is just a stone’s throw away(take it you took this pic from its platform). Don’t get why the Newark Airport light rail don’t want to stop there?—-they would get heck lot more attendance if it did Do you live in Jersey? You know it’s the weirdest state in the Union—will don’t got self serv gas pumps, lol
It may not show up instantly, but the transfer from KC to Bay, while team-wise will suck, will help her take this next step. In KC, there was a wealth of attacking, she basically sat back. This move to a lesser club will require to be more involved in the attack (something I know she has but has not been used in the teams she's been with)
Been missing the player interviews for the past couple of matches. Post Argentina were Shaw, Moultrie, and Heaps. Shaw Moultrie Heaps (yeah, I know, it says Horan )
Post match Canada are Lavelle, Sentnor, A Thompson, and Tullis-Joyce Lavelle Sentnor A Thompson Tullis-Joyce
Goalkeepers MUST be good unambiguous communicators. She is that and some. I understand that she can even be heard and understood in very noisy situations. A further note: Man U plays a fairly quick playing out of the backs style and she had struggled a bit with her ball control. But she has worked on he accuracy and timing of passes and has progressed to where she is one of the best in England. Her best passes still seem to be longer ones but they, generally, are very accurate. I do not know for sure if she or Dickey will be #1 but I am quite comfortable seeing either in goal. Remember tha Hayes has not seen Phallon as much as Dickey but that is because Phallon was not available due to club commitments for some windows. It is a VERY good thing that we have two 'keepers playing well. I will also say that the two or three behind them are no slouches either. I think we can be comfortable seeing any of our top five 'keepers for any match.
Well see how her match fitness goes. She's only going to be available for 4 matches (in the past year or more) before the Japan series takes place, and Hayes will have to make a decision by the 3rd match. I'm not expecting her to get picked, but I hope she does.

Looks close to the A-team (sound track in my head), though somewhat surprised that Hutton is not starting. Interesting that Tullis-Joyce got the starting nod.
Vanegas hard foul on Rodman. Vanegas put out her hand to shake and Rodman doesn't take it. What did Vanegas think was going to be the response?
Haven't been impressed with Yohannes on the defensive side of the ball today. She's doing what she does well with the nice toe touches, but Colombia play a stronger game and there have too many times Yohannes is being pushed by.
Based on the first half, I'd say Colombia looks the most likely team to score. U.S.needs to get the ball more to Alyssa Thompson and use her speed.
Halftime thought: This is a match where Macario or Wilson are missing. Sentnor is getting into good positions, but is passing the ball backwards too much rather than looking to turn/attack. Once again, Fox is playing very well. Rodman is not passing quick enough. Both Lavelle and Yohannes have been able to cover, but she's put them in difficult positions. Coffey is doing well as a disrupter in the midfield. As this match is physical, she is stepping up that way. Girma and Stonnet are doing well at the back, and along with Fox have done well when Colombia have threatened. Caicedo for Colombia is so, so dangerous. Santos has been passing very well. Vanegas is playing chippy, and should probably is very close to a card. Nobody has looked very good, and at both points both have looked dangerous. The CR, I think, is doing well, both calling the match closely, and knowing when fouls don't occur. Saying that, I think Colombia is on the wrong side of most, and a car needs to come out early in the 2nd half.
