I like 'em both; nic's because it resembles what they have now, and Old Gunnar's because of the simplicity (that's a great font!). They couldn't go wrong with either one.

love those kits change to the crest: -1993 -Montréal Football Club -the Montreal logo doesn't contrast too well, but I like the idea of inserting it on the club crest definitely have to use more grey/silver
Best logo and jersey I have seen yet...in fact, this is the only one I like. I like the concept of the fleur-de-lis and maple leaf behind it...very sharp. Can perhaps be worked a little...but someone from the Impact should take notice of this.
Thanks guys. Apologies on the '93 instead of '92. It seemed like all of the sources I looked up were divided half and half on which date they gave. If '92 is correct, that's an easy enough fix. I played around a little with the color schemes but without bleeding too much red into it I couldn't really find a way to get it to "pop" more. I can tinker a bit more this weekend though if anyone has suggestions. By all means anything I put out will have to be cleaned up properly LOL, I simply know how to use Photoshop a little but using it well is quite another thing.
Hail to the king...again, your logo rocks! If I can suggest something, it would be to try the maple leaf, and perhaps the banner in red. Just to stay true to the color of our Maple leaf...plus, it may make the fleur-de-lis stand out more, (which in my mind is the main logo reprenting the team). I would also replace the word Impact in the Banner with Montreal...personally. Just a suggestion...it may look odd once visualized, but its worth a shot. Again, great job...can't wait for the MLS to come to Montreal...I will surely go for season tickets!
To be honest, I like your original logo MUCH more than this one. This one seems very (North American). By that I mean too flashy. I also don't care for the leaf which looks like a flame...sorry. Your first logo however is right on the money...simple, clear, classic, and something that no one will tire of...at least in my opinion. Maybe some minor changes can be attempted, but I wouldn't tamper with it too much. I seriously think the Impact should see this logo. If I were you, I would submit this to them.
This is an idea I came up with. It has a much more traditional crest look. The red cross is from the city of Montreal flag. I think purple matches the color scheme well. The purple fade on the cross was used for contrast and to stylize the design. I also could picture Montreal having a purple kit, maybe as an alternate.
By the way, the stylised red flower is the logo of the City of Montreal (the administration). Don't expect to see it in a logo.
HailtotheKing: The new one is nice but something tells me that purists are going to consider it overkill. I think the one from nic_italia will end up being closest to what people will like the most. However, I would still keep the logo as is.
Below is my design. I'm going with Purple as the primary color, black and white as secondary colors and Red as an accent color. I went with a more traditional "football" crest and also dropped the Impact name.
Excellent! The only thing I would change is the banner area, make it white or silver so as to not get lost in the flur, and simplify the text to like IMFC or MIFC. I dont think the FO could do any better! I also dig the one nic did.
