Cool club to join since they are now on stable financial footing and have some pretty strong alums like Cazorla, Michu, etc.
Here's the release from the club Oviedo is a level above Huracán in the Segunda Division and is currently in 3rd place, one point out of an auto-promotion to La Liga next year. The release -- I believe -- says that he will join Oviedo's B team for now. They play in the Tercera division, one level below where he was with Huracán Valencia.
Listen to the exploding heads of the Shaq Haters bwahahahaha ... But seriously, this kid just turned 19 a couple of months ago, and he could potentially be part of a La Liga side as early as next season. For all the vitriol, he's going in the right direction thus far
This couldn't be more true, I don't think anyone on this forum looks at a young American and roots against them. Actually, I'd say everyone here hopes he does really well. But what you won't find is people here being unnecessarily delusional about what things are.
Well that's fair enough. If the kid goes on to have a fine pro career but sucks it up internationally, then that's fine by me. Not everybody is cut out for the international game.
Hey yuh never know. He may have been selected over a friend or relative. As a matter of fact we are all entitled to our opinions.
As your tight knit circle knows, there will always be haters. You have been working at this now for almost 12 years. None of these haters who speak ill of you have no clue about your daily grind and how hard you have worked and will continue to work to be the best you can be. For years you had been one of the best young defensive mids in the country until a decision was made to play you as an outside back. You stepped into your new role without complaint. I know personally the impact Wilmer leaving the program had on you. I have always admired how you have gone about your business on a professional level. I always knew another opportunity would come around. So your real homies will continue to support you my friend. Stay positive and keep working hard brother.
So....does Shaq read these boards pretty regularly or is this just some weird show of support for all of the random "haters" here? Also, plenty of players work hard for years and years with varying results. Saying his performances aren't stellar isn't an attack on the effort he's put in or sacrifices he's made, it's just an observation of the final product being put on display...
Oviedo is also tied for 4th in the Segunda Division, only 2 points behind Cordoba for 2nd place and an automatic promotion spot.
My Spanish isn't very good, but I think this says that Shaq scored in Oviedo B's latest win.... El #RealOviedo Vetusta se impuso (1-2) al @Condalclub. Goles de Shaq y Edo. #CanteraRO pic.twitter.com/3GCD1iK5cX— Real Oviedo (@RealOviedo) March 13, 2016
I'm not delusional but having watched every game I couldn't find that particular assessment less true.
Indeed he did: http://www.realoviedo.es/noticia/victoria-del-filial-en-norena They had a game today too, but no game report yet.
Transfermarkt says his contract with Oviedo lasted through June 2016. It's possible he quietly re-signed, but he's not listed on the club website in either the first team or the second team roster. It seems like he's a free agent.
Could see him entering the draft like Junior Flores is reportedly doing. Quite a few teams are in need of a left back.
