Plenty of frequent flyer miles and being exiled to the Islands. Maybe a great place for a holiday but as a footballer it would be like playing for Honolulu FC.
Hardly. It's a 3-hour flight from Tenerife to Madrid. That's the same duration as a flight from Denver to Seattle, and a little more than half that of Honolulu to Los Angeles.
Yup! I just just made both of the flights in the past month from Denver. 7.5 hours direct to Honolulu and 3.25 hrs to Seattle. Still......those flights times Tenerife players endure is often less than that of MLS players.
Given the fact that all domestic Spanish flights are no more than 1hr-1hr:30 max, the comparison isn't valid. MLS players regularly take 5 hr flights for a match. Liga 2 players regularly take the train or a 1hr flight. Thus the every other week 3 hr flight for Tenerife is normal by US standards but makes them, by far, the most travel heavy team in Spain.
Yep. 3 hours is a looong flight by European standards. For some perspective: you can get from London to the Baltics in a 2 1/2ish hour flight.
He got praise in the Levante forums by the Levante fans. Most of them expected him to have earned a place in the RB rotation.
That's still vastly different from saying that Tenerife = Honolulu. I know their lifestyle is a lot slower in Spain, but time doesn't actually pass differently. 3 hours is still 3 hours.
Sounds as though it might be time for you to brush up on Spanish time dilation. "In Einstein's theory of relativity, Spanish time dilation describes the difference of elapsed time between two events, as measured by observers that are either moving relative to each other, or differently, depending on their proximity to the Spanish center of gravity, Madrid."
