Petrokimia Putra (the Indonesian Champions) pulled off the upset of the tournament so far with a 3-1 home victory over the Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua. Shenhua has been struggling in the domestic league this far this year, so this shouldn't be a huge surprise to those who follow Chinese football.

The match was scoreless in the first half. Jainal Ichwan opened the scoring for the Indonesians in the 55th minute. Four minutes later, Widodo Cahyono Putro doubled the Petrokimia lead. Brazilian international Orlando brought Shenhua back to within a goal just a minute later. Shortly afterward, Widodo netted his second of the match to put the finishing touches on the Indonesian victory.

Petrokimia will have to leave their East Java home for Shanghai (likely to be cooler than they are accustomed to) for the return match.

Shanghai has been struggling all year, but I must admit, I expected them to get by this club. Perhaps in two weeks in Shanghai, things will be different.

I just hope petrokimia players get out of there alive after match.

Are you suggesting that Shanghai fans are uncivilized and violent? Actually, as much as I hate Shenhua, their fans are actually rather civilized soccer fans (unlike some hooligans in England and other European countries).

Hey Ludahai, stop hating shenhua for what an ex player did in a match 5 years ago. Anyway i'm not surprised at all. This Indo side is a good side. This shenhua side is pretty young and have no experience of continental football, in fact it's the first year of professional club football for a lot of the players.
Also for the return leg we will get Du Wei, Sun Xiang and Yu Tao back from AG.

2 yellow cards and 5 red cards. although I believe I was completely innocent, since i made bunch of mods jealous with my talent they decided to set me up and put many charges that i had no idea against me.

you pm whoever gave you the yellow and show how you're sorry for whatever you did and behave yourself for a while, then it should be gone anytime soon.
you can also make a sockpuppet, but once they find you, they'll give you a red card. leelo seems to be surviving so far though.

I thought if you got a red card that means they also ban your IP address. What happened to all the cards now?

red card is not equal to IP ban. You cannot post while you're red but you can still use PM. thru PM you can assert your claim or make an apology to admin so that you'll be reduced to yellow. If no sign of rehabilitation is seen, then you may get IP ban. I know one guy completely got his account deleted. but that's quite rare. you won't see it so often.

I'm pretty sure the Indonesians will be safe even if Shanghai loses at home. Well, let's see.

I think the Hongkou stadium crowd are used to loosing this year so i think they won't be all that surprised.

I have been to Hongkou Stadium (I presume the match is there rather than Shanghai Stadium) before. The crowd there is generally pretty polite. Actually, if Shenhua loses, I would be more concerned for the Shenhua players than for the Indonesian visitors. Wasn't it an Indonesian club that eliminated Shandong back in 2000?
