Remember what happened in the next match with the other South American team that scored 7 to a concacaf side
According to the press, either Isla or Hernández. If it's the former, then Aránguiz gets pushed up. According to Díaz himself, yes.
Chile has improved in every game they have played. They look sharp in the quarterfinals. Colombia, IMHO, has digress gradually. I think their best game was against the U.S. and that was arguably the U.S. worse performance. Colombia will have to be very sharp against Chile if they hope to win.
This is the fixture of the tournament so far. I'm really looking forward to this. I think Colombia will take it. If Colombia shut down Alexis Sanchez who is on fire I have no doubt Colombia will win. Vidal will be missing, that should be a big loss as he's been one of the players of the tournament so far. Colombia are back to their best in my opinion, we're really going to see here who's the better of the 2 teams. I always thought Colombia were much better than Chile in 2013 and 2014, and those 2 Colombia sides were probably better than Chile 2015, but that Colombia did not show up to last years Copa America unfortunately so we saw them play very disappointing football. Colombia are unbeaten in the last 3 against Chile, 1 win and 1 draw in Santiago and 1 draw in Barranquilla. I think with Chile finally clicking and Colombia playing good football again, we'll finally find out who's really the better of the 2 sides.
Last copa america team was renovating because we were missing important players or others were in bad form forcing Pekerman to experiment. Besides all that we beat Brazil and took Argentina to pk. This team still is in process, Chile on the other hand is more of a finish product
What it may come down to is how Chile can contain James. He has been a thorn in the Chileans side the size of a hatchet. He played outstandingly well in 2012 in Chile scoring a couple goals and could have scored more. He was a vital part of Colombia's come back in the game in Barranquilla in 2013. He scored a nice goal in Santiago in this 2018 cycles's qualification. If they can't make adjustments to contain him Colombia will probably win. If they do find a way to contain James or if he just has a bad game I can see Chile going to the final. I hate to make it that simple but in many ways it is that simple.
Ideally Will get more problems with Cardona ...but depends in how confortable Will be him on The field
James is very regular, even with Peru trying to stop him he managed to get a really close goal. Basically what will make the difference is like Pepino says If Cardona shows up, or even Cuadrado. When Cuadrado Cardona and James(which he usually is) are playing at a high lvl our team plays really well
Just like the 1-1 draw with Venezuela showed that Mexico was not very good, the 0-0 with Peru also shows a troubled Colombia. When the keeper is your MOTM that shows the team is not working at high level. The absence of Vidal only means the scoreline won't be more than two goals difference, Chile 3 Colombia 1.
The only reason Ospina won man of the match was because of that save against Ramos at the end of the match. We barely troubled Ospina otherwise. Our defence was solid. Colombia didn't underperform, we just let them do nothing. Brazil couldn't score past us either.
Peru's defense was good but also Colombia's attacking line was out of sync. Colombia is better than Mexico, but not by that much.
I'm afraid of Colombia. I think they will win. Nonetheless, this was a good Copa América from Chile as we finally beat México and made back to back semis, something it had not happened since I don't really know.
