    Hello everyone.

Why exactly do Sevilla have the nickname Palanganas? Anybody know?

A palangana is a type of washbasin that was used historically in areas where there was no running water. Water was heated and poured in the washbasin. The old ones were white and had a thin red line that ran along the edge of the basin. Sevilla's uniforms were white with thin red red stripes along the seams of the pants and shirt, and their club emblem is white and red, thus the term Palangana.

Why a Betico is answering this I don't have a clue.

Now us Beticos really know unofficially why they are called palanganas because in these wash basins one used them to clean their asses, genitalia and underarms and their stadium the Nervion aka the pig stye is in the shape of a wash basin!! :D

Thanks for the reply Pichi, I appreciate it. Pretty fair for a Betico. :)
