No frills, which team do you like least. Had to bunch the last three together. Hard to imagine a horde of folks hating them, but I'm sure I'll have my judgment and character question for doing it this way.
Is it me, or is this poll flawed? It seems to me that there's a difference between asking which team is least liked (which team has fewest fans) and asking which team a person liked the least (which team is most hated by other fans). You'd get two different responses. Fewest fans? Either KC or the Rapids. Most hated? Probably MetroStars. (I, for one, actually like the MetroStars, but DC fans hate the Metros and DC fans, as a rule, have more free time on their hands...just look at their damn forum.)
LA, for the fact that fans of teams other than the natural rival (SJ) get worked up about them. However, if a New York/Jersey or Bay Area team is good for a consistent period of time, just watch the backlash begin.
Hard to answer. DCU is the earthly personification of all that is evil. On the other hand, there are people who like that sort of thing.
Your user name makes you look like a member of the Dallas Burn Supporters Club. So - we can assume that KC, Colorado and San Jose are the teams most people could not care less about? I agree - though LA people might have a dislike for SJ.
Apart from the fact that they are our biggest rivals, I just don't like the NY entitlement mentality {aka: if the NY team isn't good, than MLS won't survive. They should give us breaks for the good of the league.} Every now and then, this attitude bubbles up from the sewer and just stokes me up something awful. It gives me insight into how a lot of Canadians feel, even though the relative obnoxiousness between Canadians and US citizens isn't nearly as disparate as the relative obnoxiousness between NY sports fans and other fans.
As a Burn fan, it swings between LA and Colorado, leaning toward Colorado. I enjoy the rivalry with Chicago, but I've never disliked them, because they're always a talented team and, when we do play, you come away feeling that you gave it your best, win or lose. The one exception is Kovalenko who purposely hurt Pollard, broke his leg, which led directly to Pollard being low-balled by MLS when his contract was up, and forcing him to leave the game to make a living. Personally, I hope it haunts Kovalenko. I've always felt there was a special animus for LA. Maybe one day I'll describe it. I'll just say, the games between our teams have been fantastic, with a lot of emotion. They do have their dirty players and showboats and holier-than-thou attitude, which is probaby why I place LA in the "least liked" category as opposed to the "respectful rivalry" category. I just hate Colorado because they've beaten us when it mattered with inferior teams and that hurts more.
Not a single vote for the crew? I know they're the best team, but I didn't think everyone else realized that.
Chief Crazy Bitch I think some of you voters are forgetting King Mullet Sunnuvabitch, who plays for DC.
As a Colorado fan I voted for Dallas because they seem to have a puffed-up evaluation of themselves. Inferior teams my @#@@!
As a Crew fan, we dislike the Fire and DC United, but we have respect for them and enjoy the great games they provide us.....with the MetroScum, there's no respect, no great games, just a feeling of hatred.
A couple things I noticed.... Not too many people hate Columbus. Why? Because most people tend to forget about them. They always do fairly well in the regular season and US Open Cup, but not too well in the playoffs. Revs also don't have too many haters. Why? Becuase until recently, nobody had any reason to be pissed at the Revs. Who the hell did we beat during our first 6 1/2 years of existence? Mutts have a lot of haters. Why? Because it's the New York metropolitan area. No other reason is really necessary.
Don't confuse yourself people. KC is the team nobody cares about, LA is the team nobody likes. Theres a difference.
The only reason anyone could hate the Rapids is that they are jealous of the attendance numbers we put up last yea, fewest fans my a##. what were u smokin man?
I grew up in Chicago. Hatred of all things New York and Los Angeles runs deep. Since the Metros haven't been much of a threat, I voted LA.
