from the mls website 12 people, including baggage handlers, clap as ruiz carries the cup off the plane.....what are they thinking.....
Maybe they're thinking, "even it is just 12, they're our fans and deserve to have the info and celebrate with us."
attititude? gimme a break... not really, i'd rather them pull off one thing successfully then make the airport thing an embarassment or testament as to the how the league is perceived...especially by the local media... soccer bashers with prominent positions could have a field day with this... not a stinky attitude at all.... but then again...i hope i'm wrong...i pray there's 2-3k out there waiting for them...nothing would make me happier.... i just remember the US fiasco when all the US supporters were going to go to taunt the honduran team at the airport when they arrived....i believe less then 10 people were there, and were booed by the hundreds of honduran fans that showed up....bless those few that did.... i'm just saying.... its the same feeling when any of us convince our friends to watch an away game on tv and there's 12 people in the stands on tv....
I am not a big DC fan but when they won there first cup in 1996. A few hundred people showed up at the airprot to greet them when they got back. So I wouldn't say anything about the DC fans. They are probably some of the best in the league. Supporting the team even, recently, when they haven't done that well.
We also had a very successful parade in downtown DC one year after we won the cup, tons of people showed up.
All they are doing is giving the information so fans who want to go the airport to meet the team can do so. The real celebration is going to be at the Staples center. The Burn publish the team's flight info all the time. I'm the biggest idiot of a soccer fan I know and I don't think I would meet the team at the aiport. I don't want other people to know I have no life.
ahhh...my bigsoccer brothers..... how'd you get yours? who suggested that you get one? by the way...i've been to the nou camp...so you really can't turn on me that much
I wasn't responding to your post, which should have been obvious considering since I didn't quote you on it.
and i wasn't referring directly to you i have seen many posting desribing the celebration in DC though i have not seen a numerical description for those who showed up in LA
