Eddy Barea who has fallen in disgrace at Xamax might play for Servette he declined the offers by Lugano and Lucerne and told Lausanne's coach Castella that he'd choose Servette over Lausanne Eddie apparently wants to retake his studies in Geneva today is the last day for a transfer within the SL and CL...
Very interesting. I wonder how he would fit into the squad. He has talent, but would he be a good fit?
I'm sure he would fit in very well. He'd played several years for Servette, so he knows the club very well he didn't sign for Lausanne nor any other club, so he might officially retire in a few days to be able to join Servette the good news for Servette is that Esteban gave his comeback after injury with the Swiss U-20
Kusunga has an offer from Young Boys, but he should stay yet with Servette till the end of the current season
Barea should join Servette and eligible to play for them in about 10days if Xamax doesn't make any trouble
he's played quite a lot this season as Cravero has been injured twice he has become the number 3 in central defence behind Cravero and Girod, but Kusunga is usually playing in midfield. He's supposed to join Young Boys on July 1 Xavier Hochstrasser, another youngster, seems to have an offer from PSG
next match Fribourg - Servette Servette should play with Boully Ratta - Girod - Londono - Bratic Tréand - Hochstrasser - Pont - Noriega Esteban - Besseyre
Good morning, I just saw this thread. I was in Genève in 2003 for business and went to the club's stadium and shop. Bought a Servette FC hat and I was really impressed by the intimate stadium (before I went to St. Jakob Park to see Israel versus Switzerland). Anyway, somebody told me around a year ago that Servette FC stopped playing because of lack of funds. Was this person playing a trick on me? -KYHS Soccer
the professional sector (i.e. the limited company) Servette FC went bankrupt last year the association which is including all the youth teams (U-21 and younger)survived. Therefore Servette could restart in the first amateur league, instead of having to restart in a lower amateur league. Otherwise they probably would have had to restart in the second amateur league, as the U-21 belonging to the association played in the first amateur league last season and if the association would have gone bankrupt they could have started in best case in the second amateur league. so, now they're playing in the first amateur league and they're on good way to make it to the playoffs (1st amateur league > challenge league)
Fribourg - Servette 0-7 all 7 goals by Servette scored in the second half!!! 0-1 Girod 0-2 Londono 0-3 Esteban 0-4 Esteban 0-5 Tréand 0-6 Chedly 0-7 Chedly
probable Servette lineup against Stade Nyonnais Marques Formenti - Girod - Kusunga - Bratic Tréand - Hochstrasser - Londono - Chedly Besseyre - Esteban
no, it wasn't a friendly but Servette came back on earth today loosing for the first time this season at home 1-2 against Nyon
Having lived in Nyon I have a soft spot for their team. despite this setback, I think that Servette should have no problem rebounding and playing well next match.
yes, Servette had enough possibilities to score against Nyon, but they probably were just a bit blinded by their easy 7-0 victory in Fribourg the week before now, it looks like Xamax is making difficulties regarding the transfer of Barea however, another former Servette player is about to join the club this week, Lionel Pizzinat - he lately played for Venezia in Italy
http://www.tdg.ch/tghome/toute_l_info_test/sports/foot__21_03_.html Pizzinat might be eligible to play next weekend already
as long as Cravero and Kusunga are injured he might play in central defense he could also play on the right side for the injured Ratta once all Cravero, Kusunga and Ratta are fit again, he might play in right midfield for Tréand
