I'm sure this thread will create some contraversy but I am wondering when Serna will get the h#ll out of MLS. Altough he may be a "prolific" goal scorer, his attitude and loyalty is seriously questionable. I still see his name on the NE roster and since JMM is here -- it should be bye-bye times for the Columbian lump.

Here's to seeing his arse out of MLS for good. Serna leave!

I have to admit, I kinda enjoy hating Diego. :D

I say we let him stay, just as long as he doesn't join the Earthquakes. *knocking on wood*

Serna is from Columbia and rumor has it he is practicing with his former team there now. I watched him all the years he was at Miami, and he is a good player that squandered his chance to be great. He made up for his lack of work ethic by his skill. Now, as he gets a little older and suffers a few injuires, he will probably regret his actions. He could have been a superstar, but will probably end up a has been much sooner.

Even if Serna stays in MLS, I severely doubt he'll have a spot on the field for the Revs. Stevie's game plan last year did not include him or a player like him (APC rode the pine for a large portion of the year as well).

I'm just afraid that MLS will kick him out, but he'll take about 2 years to take off his cleats and shinguards, stand around for a while, then finally decide to make an exit while pissing everybody off.

And, by the way, it's COLOMBIA. "Columbian" refers to descendents of Christopher Columbus, or residents of Columbia, SC and, IIRC, Columbus, OH. At least Mason16 got it right.

Serna was on his way out of the Metros when he stopped showing up for practice to take an unnannouced trip to Columbia. He's like the Dennis Rodman of the MLS (except he's not that good!). He works whenever he feels like it. I'm glad he's off the Metros roster. Hopefully he'll be out the MLS and back with the Cartels in Columbia soon enough.

BTW, what brought this thread on? Is there a valid rumor of him leaving the MLS? Please say it's true! Does the NE coach not like him?

quick edit your post before cbasher attacks your ability to spell!

not a valid rumor - just a valid speculation since jmm arrived.

    Re: Re: Serna leave!

The Rodman analogy is a bit off as Dennis is known for flamboyance among other things but Serna was absolutely one of the best MLS forwards for a 2 year span then fell off the map when the Fusion were blown up. He's a head case for sure but the right coach could really get a lot of bang out of Diego, particularly when he's paired with the right partner up top. See Chacon/Serna in 2001 for an example.
