I'd like to see Genoa go down and Sampdoria to go up.

like to see another southern club in A so pulling for Lecce or even Palermo to take the 4th spot...

I know 4 go up to A, do four go down to C1 as well?...if so one of Napoli-Bari-Genoa is headed for it..

After a good start we fell asleep (of course I'm talking about Cagliari)

Too bad we woke up too late...

    Palermo

With 3 rounds left, the race for promotion is tight.

The Rosanero (Palermo) has really gained some ground the past few rounds and is in position to gain promotion...here are the standings.

    3 Ancona 57
    4 Lecce 54
    5 Triestina 53
    6 Vicenza 52
    7 Palermo 52
    8 Ternana 51
    9 Cagliari 50

Ancona plays Lecce next week, but the match that stands out for me is:

    Week 38 (last round)

    Palermo - Lecce

This game could mean promotion for one of these teams.

Points made in the last month.

    Cagliari 9
    Palermo 8
    Triestina 6
    Lecce 5
    Ancona 4
    Vicenza, Ternana 2

If we just had gained at least a draw in the match against samp... (and we deserved it)... as I told it's too late nonetheless we have to try it.

Anyway I'm happy for samp, samp fans and cagliari fans are friends, the respective 'ultras' always shout out loud the name of opponent team before any cag-samp match.

I expect Lecce to make the bounce again, and I'd like to see Ternana and Palermo get up as well.

Siena appears in good shape for the second spot, but the last 2 will go down to the wire..

Lecce hosting Ancona is a big one this week....

I'm hoping Palermo's good run can continue.,,

    I second that brother...

The south will be represented next year!

Now if only I could bring myself to actually *wear* those bright rosanero shirts...

Siena has joined Sampdoria in clinching a spot in Serie A with two weeks remaining.

Ancona and Lecce remain in the 3rd and 4th promotion spots although Palermo, Ternana, Triestina, and Cagliari are still hoping to move up.

Meanwhile, Salernitana is already relegated while Catania, Genoa and Cosenza are in position to join them in C1 next season.

Just saw that Chevanton is suspended for Lecce's next two games. That'll hurt their promotion bid.

Will certainly hurt them...Chevanton has 16 goals this season...

Palermo has moved into position, if they beat Verona this week, that'll likely setup the final game in Lecce to decide a place...

    Along with these guys:

    Protti (Livorno) 20 (5 pens)
    Schwoch (Vicenza) 19 (10)
    Dionigi (Napoli) 18 (8)
    Chevanton (Lecce) 16 (1)
    Oliveira (Catania) 15 (3)

And yes, Spinesi (Bari) 15 (3), is the same Spinesi who played for Castel di Sangro in the "miracle" season.
