Guys I'm not joking here but Serie A have to have some immediate crisis talks with all the presidents. This is a travesty. The league needs to be protected. There has to be some new laws introduced that will ban Udinese or any other seller club from ever qualifying in the top competition. Udinese had no business playing this game tonight. What they are involved in is anti-sport and it doesn't set a good example for the children
All Serie A clubs have turned into serial sellers. In the current Italian macroeconomic climate player trafficking is one of the very few ways of making real money. This being said, Udinese has a better chance of competing in the Europa League...from a UEFA coefficient standpoint it's not a big deal.
only problem is they have taken a cl spot from inter or napoli who would hace certainly done better, of course you can make an arguement about why they didnt finsh 3rd but thats not the case really, udinese showed a complete lack of composure, guidolin showed he is not a top manger, not sure why he brought on maicosuel and not muriel, what an idiot he was trying to be clever with that penalty,
OH WOW.....now its a crisis ha??? how about teams taking EUROPA league seriously and actually give it a shot...instead of b*tching and moaning about how its useless, its not prestigious or whatever else that no other league complains about?? or better yet, why dont u go b*tch and moan about how the league is rigged and how refs favor certain teams, etc.......how bout italian teams just start playing real futbol instead of throwing fits about small things. ONe bad call here and there doesnt take away your championships....losing 12 out of 38 games does. I dont think the ref just awards goals for free or stops the balls from rolling into your net.
oh not to mention, lets ban the coach of the champions without real evidence. Maybe that also helps the league in CL......u got 2 teams in CL now, one without a coach, the other depleated with injuries and no depth. FIGC should just kill itself
If you don't understand the point you should be posting on this thread. You obviously don't care about the kids
I started laughing when that 3rd pk from Udinese the guy tried to pull a Zidane But in all seriousness, not much you can do, Udinese finished 3rd, I'm sure from a Serie A competing in Champions League standpoint, everybody wanted Napoli in the UCL considering how well they played (minus the 2nd leg against Chel$ki)
Well, I cant say i am surprised. I mean they havent done well since they have started pre season games ! haha. ehh oh well. But I dont think this is a big crisis mode thing.
any way you slice it, only two serie a teams in the group stages. It looks bad on all of us. I guess the serie a shit talking continues...
The league has to start protecting itself. Even if it means picking and choosing which teams get in the Champions league. I think it's the only sensible solution
That would kind of defeat the purpose of Napoli actually competing in Serie A or any team that would pre-determine who goes I think its really pissy what Udinese is doing, and for the past 2 years they've messed up the Champions League by keeling over and dying. But they finished above us, no matter how much better we were than them (relatively speaking) I think what it comes down to is actually taking Europa League seriously and getting our coefficient up, if Napoli took it seriously, I have no doubts they would win or at least go very far. They are better than Atletico Madrid
Obviously there would have to be a committee decision. If a team like Udinese make the top tier, the federation along with the presidents would have to make an appropriate and tasteful decision.
If they take it seriously and don't rest their stars like they were doing last year in the EL. That's the big question I want answered this year, are the Serie A teams going to take the EL seriously? They need to do what Spain and Portugal have done in recent years and have two teams make the finals to recover the loss of points.
This is fact and absolutely true. The BL captured the fourth spot on the back of successful Europa campaigns. The Portuguese league earned 2nd highest co-efficient rankings two years ago for getting two of their teams into the Europa finals. The question, for me (again), is whether the Serie A teams are going to take it seriously, truly seriously, this year?
