I still think this matchup is the biggest one in Series A right now. North vs South. On paper, in my mind anyways, the two strongest teams in the league.
I said let’s not praise Spalletti too early. What have we done other than pass sideways? We are playing their reserves.
We look no different from last season. Maybe more defensive stability, but what are we doing to attack?
Spalletti pulled all the right strings. Ounas was an instant impact over Elmas. Fitting to see K2 with the winner. Fabian was a difference maker in that second half, and his partner, Anguissa, deserves credit for his performance. Big win
Great result. Not the start we wanted, but Napoli for a change showed some mental fortitude. Koulibaly was immense. Amazing how much he had to do just to show up for this game and wow did he show up. Chiello dominated Osimhen. He has much to learn. We need Osimhen to deliver this season. Allegri has his work cut out at Juventus.
I have to give credit to Spalletti for the changes at half time. So far, he's been impressive. He's been quick to make changes when we've had problems. 3 games, 3 wins. Leicester on Thursday, I'd expect rotation there.
Osimhen is garbage. He has no coordination and is clumsy. What is he really good at. Elmas is a flop too. Anguissa for me was with Koulibaly the best player today.
Ok but we should also criticize him for how we start games. Tactics in first half never seems right. We look more compact but we lack creativity to penetrate upfront.
@CarecaNapoli I agree with your choices for top players of the match. I thought Politano was superb too, but he couldn't make his efforts count. Fabian is finding new life under Spalletti. Juventus looked empty of ideas. They're best chances came from unforced errors. Napoli looked at little too casual at the start for a game that demanded much better concentration. But Napoli looked the better team and carved the better chances. Osimhen is a diamond in the rough. He has the qualities to become a top forward.
I agree with what you say. But there is genuinely a lack of creativity upfront. Disagree with what you say about Osimhen. What are his skills?
Not so much his skills, his qualities. Pace, size, and instinct. The truth is, even though Chiellini dominated him, Juventus sat deeper than they wanted, only because of Osimhen. They were afraid of his pace.
I think that is Allegri tactics. A few years ago Higuain scored the 1-0 in Naples and Allegri had Juve sit this deep for 80 minutes. i don’t think it has anything to do with Osimhen.
Vlahovic or Zapata are just a different level. Osimhen looks clumsy and clueless. Has no skill. Only pace. He will never be good and will lose pace with age.
Had forgotten that Benitez picked him. Higuain Mertens Jorginho Koulibaly Callejon Ghoulam Zapata Albiol Reina
AC Milan has just completely schooled Lazio. They were better in every area of the pitch for the whole duration of the game.
