Where can I find the average home attendance for AC Milan, Inter Milan, Lazio, Roma, Juventus, and Parma? Just curious...would like to compare which supporters are REALLY passionate over this season and many seasons if you can find those stats. Thanks ahead of time.
Your wish is my command: http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn.htm Just click on the Italian flag at the left. Here are this year's attendances directly: http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn/2004/aveita.htm Note that the top 3 teams in Serie B have more "passionate" fans than over half of Serie A, using this particular measurement.
1 AC Milan 61.376 2 Internazionale FC 57.927 3 AS Roma 54.447 4 SS Lazio 49.019 5 Juventus FC 34.743 Thanks, Sue...your the best. I am really shocked at these numbers. I didn't realize that Inter Milan was so popular and that Juve was on the bottom of the top 5!! Inter Milan isn't even vying for the Sudetto or the Copa Italia, not really playing that great this season AND haven't won since 89, I believe. AC Milan's high #s are not surprising. I know there stadium is not suppose to be the best for football, but come on...you have one of the most famous clubs in the world! Finally look at the huge gap between Lazio and Juve....16K...truly amazing.
Cagliari's low attendance is due mainly to the reduced size of the stadium. highest attendance was 18000 but this is the max number in the current situation, if the stadium was free to be used in its entirety it would have reached the max in more than one match (ie circa 40000). I mean the games vs. atalanta, palermo, messina etc. To find a ticket was a task, the monday afternoon before the matches there was already no tickets available (apart from some really expensive ones). Cagliari Calcio is in the top ten for number of fans in Italy and not even in the last place.
Also keep in mind that Juve's ticket prices are double that of Lazio/Roma's. I was there last season and was astonished at Juve's ticket prices compared to the other big clubs. Those numbers are very misleading.
