Wasn't there supposed to be some kind of decision on the issuance of bonds for the Metro stadium in the month of September? I could be wrong, but i could almost certainly recall something like that being mentioned...Heck, now i am starting to worry that with the WUSA going under whoever has to make the decisions might want to backtrack by wrongly considering MLS (being also soccer and all) as a bad place to invest money on...
Stadium blurb from NY Daily News: "GROUND-BREAKERS: If all the proper papers are signed by government officials this week, ground-breaking for the new MetroStars stadium in Harrison would take place next August with a 2006 opening date, GM Nick Sakiewicz said."

Point to consider Troubling from that Kearny Journal article... "The MetroStars' lease at Giants Stadium expires in April 2004." What does that mean for next year? What kind of deal will Zoffinger offer he knows Metro is on its way out?
Re: Point to consider umm...that may be an error, in the other article, it states the Metros have an agreement to play at GS till 2006. What they might have meant is that the lease to use their current offices in Secaucus is up in 2004, since they were talking about moving into a new office/training complex...read it again, you'll see what I mean
2006, damn, that seems so far away. But I guess it's not too far. Next World Cup is 06 and that doesn't seem that far for some reason. It's gonna be a great year. New Metros stadium and USMNT winning the World Cup for the first time ever. What more could you ask for.
