Although I'm not devastated I'm certainly disappointed simply because I can't watch him whoop some major asian ass. Korea has the most depth in the winger dept. and I'm not too worried. It's also bad for the AFC IMO because some of Asia's finest players Park, Lee and Seol are all out of Asia's most prestigeous tournament. :D

Korea has many wingers who can replace him without much damage because it's only the asian cup, it's not the WC.

    1. Park Chu Young
    2. Lee Chun Soo
    3. Cha Du Ri
    4. Chung Kyung Ho
    5. Choi Sung Kuk
    6. Yeom Ki Hoon (Although he only plays on the left, he can swap with LCS or Park JY)
    7. Kim Seung Yong

I know some of you want to see Lee Geun Ho, Ki Song Yong and or Lee Jong Min but I dont know if they're ready. Although Lee Geun Ho is a prospect.

    Your thoughts on replacements?

Well I guess these things happen for a reason. Hopefully our youngsters step up and get noticed, get to Europe and the KNT will get stronger as a result.

LOL You and your CSK fetish. You never stop do you :D

I think CSK is a good option, although Park Chu Young can play there too.

Lee Jong-min's style of play is almost identical with Seol's but we all know that Pim will continue to use FW's/AM's like Lee Chun-soo and Choi Sung-guk as wingers like an idiot.

Anyways, Yeom Ki-hoon is my first choice pick.

As long as Seol's not going, I'm fine. But Yeom KH and Lee GH should make a great combo. 좌기훈 우근호: I could so see it. However, will Pim AKA "Failures-after-changes-will-get-me-fired" call them? I do not know. Let's just hope he's been watching some league fixtures so that he doesn't call Park CY or something to be our winger.

Lee Geun-ho was mentioned for replacement of Park.

But regarding Lee's agility and quickness Veerbeck could him on Seol's spot.

i think korea has a great chance of winning. i think it's almost a blessing to have to the epl players out as it will give some of the new guys a chance to prove themselves.

we always have a great chance of winning it.

Like, if Korea was able to meet Japan in the past few ACs then we could've won a couple - but we always got knocked out by someone else before we could meet Japan and they ended up winning it all ;)

We still have depth on each position so we should be fine, though winning championship is a little bit tougher.

I don't want seol to over do himself by playing right after recuperating from surgery. I'd say give the youngsters a chance to prove themselves.

i agree. no need to take unnecessary risks, and taking part in the Asian Cup, when ones not ready or trying to hurry the rehab programme is an unncessary risk. World Cup yes, Asian Cup......hmmm no.

Let alone the fact Seol will be no where near his full match fitness anyway after an ankle surgery. The Asian Cup is only 2 months away and Seol hasnt even had his sugery yet!

if Seol tries to take part, and Pim selects him......i blame the Manager......he is only trying to cover his ass by selecting an obvious and perhaps popular (the media could try to spin it to some story or another about hard work, sacrifice, strong will etc) choice.

anyway, good luck Seol on your surgery. if it turns out you can indeed take part in the Asian Cup without too much strain, then i guess you earned it. But if you are overstretching yourself or wont be match fit, i say take a back seat and give a younger unknown player a chance. we will need it for the WC.
