I like the idea of trying Pep. I hate his style of play. But somehow, this works in my mind. It seems Pep and Italia are a marriage. Maybe because it is fresh. We need fresh. f it, I sign off on it.

I sense he respects Italia more than other foreign options, perhaps he knows he'd need a mix of modern and Italian style.

Brazil's solution to their problems? Hire an Italian coach.
Italy's solution to their problems? Hire Brazilian Leonardo as technical director.
    Hehe.

Brazil has problems beyond, Like Italia.

The common theme for both (and possibly Germany) is we've lost our identity. You can modernize, but you can't lose who you are.

Adidas is going to have to back up the brinks truck to Pep's house to even get his attention one would have to imagine.

Seems like reports are that Madini is going to try to talk to him. Will be interesting.

If Peps wants the challenge and really wants to create something from the ground up, this is perfect for him. I don’t think the guy is stupid. He knows that he won’t have players on the calibre of Haaland and Rodri here. And he is probably very aware he doesn’t have the time to work with Italy like he does a club team. But for me, I am curious what interpretations he brings.

Two coaches can look at the same player and have different opinions. With Conte I know what I’m getting. This is a man that values quantity over quality. Someone like Mattia Liberali will have to get on the ballon d’or shortlist in order for to be selected by Conte for Italy. Vergara probably wouldn’t even get selected because he doesn’t fit Conte’s idea of what a mezzala should be.

Pep could want to create a new project around a completely different set of players. The idea intrigues me more and more

That said, the FIGC will be doing whatever they say if they truly want Pep and need the money lol.

I'm not so sure having a guy like Guardiola that isn't intimate with our system is a bad thing. Our system is fragmented and broken. If Guardiola is part of a solution to help disrupt it, that's not a bad thing.

Still think it's a long shot. AGAIN, the most important thing we can do now is not selecting the next CT. It's laying the foundation for an overhaul of our youth system through tax incentives, home grown player requirements, and using portions of that gambling revenue for youth teams.

I’m not convinced about Guardiola. He does well with teams that have very talented players, but we’ve never seen him coach a team where he had limited talent and quality. I’m not sure he’d generate the same amount of success.

I too would prefer it if Pep had managed in Italy before taking the CT job but to suggest he doesn't know the Italian game is ludicrous. The man played in Italy.

I want to get excited about a new CT. I really do. But, look at the calciomercato. After some tiny movement of Italian players, it again looks to be a flood of foreigners. Roma is said to be looking to spend 80M on Garnacho and Moreira because they need wingers. Emmanuele Rao is available but he has to go to Serie B.

You see the problem? Until we FORCE change through laws, rules, and legal incentives, the Serie A owners (many of whom aren't Italian) won't give a sh*t about Italians.

And this is on Abodi to do this as he's part of the government as Sports Minister. He was at Wimbledon for a photo op with Jannik Sinner this weekend. If dumbasses on a US-based message board know that the key is to get to get government involved in instituting change, why isn't he doing it?

In the 70's 80's and 90's every Serie A team was loaded with Italians, and even youngsters got their chances.

    https://www.corriere.it/sport/calci...le-257917cf-c787-4211-b8fb-3096e82aaxlk.shtml

    dall'articolo:

    https://sport.sky.it/calcio/mondiali/mondiali-2026-allenatori-piu-pagati#11

PS: INTANTO dobbiamo aspettare ANCORA 7 GIORNI PER SAPERE STO CAZZO DI CT mentre la Germania in qualche giorno HA GIA' IL CT:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    https://www.eurosport.it/calcio/lit...-pioli-nomi-e-scenari_sto23319139/story.shtml

No disclosure on how much The City Group is paying Pep.

Wonder if he would insist on earning more than Carletto's 10M Euros.

My top two choices have always been Mancini and Baldini. Baldini won't be chosen, he even said he needs more time and I am completely behind that, hope somewhere in the future he becomes our coach.

If for whatever reason we can't get either, I don't care so many are against Carlo or Pep as coaching, if either were available (Carlo won't be but there is a slight chance with Pep), I would be celebrating if they wanted to lead us! Pep would be amazing and I don't want to hear oh club and country is different, Pep and Carlo are two of the greatest coaches in history. So many successful club and country coaches like our Lippi, Deschamps, del Bosque, Scolari. You have to have the right group.

Pep is a winner. He coached a masterclass vs Inter to win the CL. He understood for him to win, he needs to mirror them and switch to a back 3. Incredible.

Carlo would be amazing here too, reason why Brazil was a let down bc I said before the tourney they are dealing with way too many injuries. Estevao, Raphinha, Militao, Joeelington, Rodrygo, Wesley, Paqueta. No country/coach is surviving that many starters and key players out, sorry.

Lastly to the people who say he must be Italian. One of Sinner's two coaches isn't Italian. Kimi's guy is German. I just watched Canada (a team not known for being world class in volleyball) go toe to toe with the world class Italian volleyball team like no one else has with a top Italian coach. Shit all the top national teams in volleyball go for Italian coaches. Oh different sports, sorry. Tuchel is a fraud but when you have a world class squad like England, you go far in the World Cup. Even the England fans have hated him during this World Cup, lol.

If Pep comes, we are coming back. I talked to my Nonno in Italy, they want Conte. Except for our friend
    lt22677. Gosh I hope Conte doesn't come.
